When I got in game I had a gold spam email from my own account. I have since changed my password again. Aside from changing our passwords periodicly what can be done to secure our accounts? I would hate to be banned as a gold spammer when I am not.

yeah, changing the password is of course the first step but do not forget that we are also having two systems of authentication; thanks to them you can get an extra layer of security to your account. I would also recommend to contact Customer Support and denounce this episode of hacking so they know that someone accessed your account temporarily.
