My email address is displayed in my guild roster after my character’s name, can anyone else see it?
We’re happy to research this, but all reports that I know about contain visuals only of the client-side issue. I haven’t yet (personally) see a screenshot of, say, a guild member showing that he could seen someone else’s email address. So at this point, given a lack of evidence to the contrary, we believe that this is not an issue, and that those who see their email addresses are the only ones seeing them.
If someone can establish different facts, we would be happy to look into this further.
Could you kindly ask your guild members if they can see this? Because we know that occasionally the player him- or herself can see the email address, but we do not believe that this visibility extends beyond the player. Meaning, I can see my email address, but no one else can see it. So it’s a small visual oddity, but no big concern.
I’d really like to hear back from you after you ask your guild members or friends if they can see anything other than your display name.

That’s really good to know, Olof, and thanks for updating us about this. We’d like to take care of that account owner display issue, but I guess it’s pretty clear that it’s not a big deal if it’s just you who is seeing your address, and so far, that’s all we’ve heard about (and it’s pretty unusual, at that).
I was about to make a thread on this until i had seen this however my email address could be seen by 1/4th of the people online at my guild which is rather worrying. Anybody else experiencing this? It seems like not everybody can see it except some.
That is not at all intended. If we could get screenshots from that guild member showing that he/she can see your email address, it would help us greatly in analyzing this. As I mentioned, we believed this was a user display issue, so we’d like to know more.

I noticed the same issue on the character screen last night and this evening have seen my email address in the guild roster, have check with the few guild members online who cannot see it but will check again tomorrow if more are about

I logged in tonight and my email address is shown next to my toon name in the guild window. That has never happened and I don’t what my email address revealed to others. Has anyone encountered this? I did submit a ticket.
As you can see (I merged this thread) a few other players have reported this. In all the reported cases, the player has confirmed that only he or she can see the email address — guild members cannot see it. In the other report, I’ve asked the reporting player to ask a guild member to take a screenshot and submit it, so we can see all the details.
We are looking into the anomaly, but so far it has been assessed as something that is not a major issue of concern as far as security. (This is because if only you see it, no worries. We’re still trying to gather info from those who feel that perhaps others can see the info.)
We have an extensive email thread about this internally, and this is a client-side issue, meaning you can see this information but others cannot. The programmers and testers have not been able to make the email address appear to anyone other than the account holder.
I also have this issue with a few extras to it…..
Not only is my email shown in the guild tab, I also have the problem of losing all information in the guild tab. It will show no players online and I am unable to do any maintenance to the guild.
I also lose all ability to use my chat. I can not see any Guild/Party or Whisper that may be in coming or out going. I get the error 42:1000:9001:4105:101 (which I know another member posted a picture of earlier)
The strange thing for me is it only happens in the evening! I can play all day time and it will work fine, but towards 6pm (uk time) I get the error and the above kicks in.
I run AVG and have the “Guild Wars 2 Special” option so I’m unsure if it’s a firewall or security issue like the error message tells me.
I would suggest that you submit a ticket or, at the least, post in the Technical Support Forum. The error code you described is monitored on that forum, and I think you may find answers there. If not, the TS Team is more than willing to help!
