Hello everyone,
First excuse me for my bad english it's not my native language .Like everybody , i'm following very close the information about GW2, but we know that (i think) the release will be in 2011 so we can imagine that there will be a lot of 3D games at this time. So i ask why not GW2 ? I know that we won't pay every month for the game but if the devs take their times , shouldn't they try to do in 3D ? I think GW will be so beautiful but imagine in 3D ? |

http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-...es-in-real-3d/ You can play just about any game in 3D if you want. If you want to do it without glasses, have fun inventing the technology that makes it possible on normal hardware without causing headaches, sickness, and looking terrible. |

I don't feel like wearing 3D glasses and a headset at the same time.
![]() And wouldn't a 3D monitor be required? I think the 3D games will fail, not many people own a 3D TV nor are ready to buy one yet. Everybody has just bought an HD TV. It will take some time (years) until we see 3D technology in MMOs. So maybe GW3: 3D. |

3D is appealing to only a small range of people, its also inpractical and expensive for both the devs and the buyer. This especially applies in an MMO, which is a huge game. MMO's should be relatively simple and not eat up a lot of resources, in order to keep the appeal to a large audiance.
Im sure once our TV's are capable of 3D, and the price is down, then 3D games will start to migrate to our monitors. I assume that this will be at the least a decade into the future before it comes a regular thing. |

Until we have a suit that allows me to "be" my character, I don't want 3D games.

Theres some software that transfers your computer's game color scheme to 3D glasses.
It's called IZ3D http://www.iz3d.com/ |

Nah, I guess they took some random list of 3D games and just put it on. After all, with a DirectX/OpenGL wrapper you can redirect any 3D game output to 3D glasses.
And we had a "everything will be 3D soon" revolution in middle eighties, no need to get excited, it will go quiet in few months

Is it just me that thinks 3d glasses is freaking annoying? If the make 3D glasses without the red/green glass, I would definitely like them, but now... Nah, don't like'em

I wonder if you are talking about Nvidia's 3D Vision.
Previous games have been released already with 3d implemented such as Batman Arkham Asylum and I wish I have the opportunity to test this at some point (without going out to buy the equipment) However while it would be good it is as stated before a very minute audience that it would actually work for. No need to add to development time and costs for such a minor feature. (though it is a good idea) Quote:

The new 3D monitors work by displaying both images in very rapid succession. The glasses you wear are synched with the monitor via IR signal. When the image intended for the left eye is being displayed the right lens of the glasses turns opaque and blocks that eyes view of the monitor, then when the image for the right eye is displayed the right lens turns transparent and the left lens turns opaque. Development of this technology for the commercial world required the refresh rate of flat screen monitors to get fast enough for the flickering to be undetectable to the naked eye. Similar systems for CRT's have been out for years, I used one fifteen years ago, but with CRT's on the way out nobody tried to commercialize the technology. Also the new 3D glasses are much lighter and cheaper than their equivilent of years past. Technology marches on.
