No I'm not defending them but at the end of the day people aren't being held at gun point to play the game. So I guess since people are still playing, there's something they find appealing about it.

Oh right forgot about that too. Quests that you sometimes flat out can't complete. There are various quests that require your side to be failing in order to complete them, including a campaign quest that leads to the Miragents/Fenris quest chain (the super grind one). Also if your side owns more than 70% (or is it 75?) of the abyss fortresses the opposing side receives a 15% damage buff. To put that in perspective, the strongest level 50 PvP weapons only have a 10% bonus, and they require an absurd amount of abyss points (which you lose when killed by a member of the opposing faction, more depending on your rank) and gold medals.

If you're playing Aion with a group of friends it's fine, but the same could be said for just about anything. You can tolerate a lot of when you're playing with people who's company you genuinely enjoy. It would just be nice if more games would take the Guild Wars or Runes of Magic approach to games and give me some content that's enjoyable when people aren't around, unlike Aion or World of Warcraft.

That's all well and good, but when essentially the exact same product (being a typical Asian grind-fest) is being advertised and sold to western markets under the guise of being 'westernized', when no changes in game-play have even been made to make it more western-friendly, you have a lot of us who...wait for it...don't like Aion.

Thus it will be criticized, and it will be bashed.

I'm actually embarrassed I found it enjoyable in the first place, it just took me a while to see past the eye-candy.

Same here. Guess why they capped the max level at 30 in the betas.

More damn milking.

People won't buy for the mag, they'll buy for the items.

@ Abaddon: I don't play Aion, but all this grinding shit is just going to further influence the Western market which will turn people off of innovative games like Guild Wars.

Do you really think so Malchior? I think with the dropoff in subs in the western market that Aion has shown that grindy games are not really the way to go in the western market.

Exclusive ingame items with every issue, damn. It even costs 3-4$ every month, added to the subscription from the game itself.

Guess how many players are buying it for the actual magazine.

So there's a minor reference to Divinity's Reach in the latest Aion community update.

( it's not actually confidential; original article points to this image at http://na.aiononline.com/board/notic...leID=223&page= )

Too much reading. Also, WTB 2 Elyos on Siel (chanter, ranger, sorc, or spiritmaster <3) as Faer is bad with technology. Yeah that's right Faer, you're being replaced if you don't shape up.

People will be annoyed at this and then they'll grind even harder.

AION is a bad game by design. It's a Beautiful Disaster. Funny thing is that servers are still online even when they are pretty much dead all across. I have played on 6 servers on the East and most have zero to no activities except for people idling at Sanctum or Pandemonium broker area and occasional ganking.

Quite pathetic is the endgame, if you actually can call anything endgame after hitting 50. Blood stain farming is essentially AION endgame. You do that for your armor and after getting armor you still do it anyway to sell them. <lol>

I won't comment about AION PvP. Its basically bunch of lowlifes in Miragents/Fenrirs ganking/harassing/killing the ones trying to get the same. Air combat is not only buggy for melee classes, its just stupid as "target is always far away".

I am happy that this $3%&ed up company is not getting my penny anymore for this poor excuse of an MMO.
