SS(skill)=spiteful spirit
55= a build for a monk which makes you nearly invincible
600 monk= same thing as a 55 different build though
although I guess those are GW1 specific so it doesn't really help if I post them...I tried

Yeah, we are mainly looking for general guild wars 2 and internet terms in this thread. We do have a thread on the first gwg, so you could post any you don't see on there in that thread.

The reason to type "1" for yes is because some old game (I think Diablo or something similar) had voice commands that were automatically binded to keys. 1 was yes. 2 was no.

Another method developed where people would type a number coresponding to what party member they were. So the 5th person in the party would hit 5, the 6th 6, etc. That way, it would be easier for the party leader to spot which guy hadn't said he was ready yet.

Nope, you're fine. We want people to be able to discuss these terms.

It's been a very short while, but already there is a growing hatred for the term OGW.

Don't know why, but usage of that term is likely to start up trollfests of epic proportions.

Yeah... GW1 seems to be acceptable, but OGW is still circulating.

At long last, the meaning of 'QFT' comes clear to me!
Thank you
..Anyone know what "re" means? I think it's short for "return" but I'm not sure.

Can you use it in a sentence? It could be different depending on how it's used. Maybe requirement or reply or something along those lines.

Once upon a time in a gaming community far far away, people used to count through to see if everyone is ready, starting by the first team member and counting up:
1
2
3
4
5
.
.
.
x
Where x is the number of team members, if reach x you are ready to go.

Though in modern times, the arts of roleplaying and counting seem to be lost forever.

Ok, one thing i do need some explination for ... the QFT ... quoted for truth? ... like what does that mean? ... the quote i post is a lie and i dont agree ill put the truth in my own words? or does i mean i fully agree with the above post ... ? ... i have seen people use QFT more in a sense of: Quit (your) ****ing Tears, random rant ...
So if someone could please elaborate what Quoted for Truth means, then please explain so i can atleast understand what is being said, tnx in advance

Quoted for truth is basically saying you agree with what someone else said.

Me either. O.o I've always seen Quoted For Truth, though a look on Wikipedia just now gave me "Quit F***ing Trying/Talking."

I guess it's just another way to say IAWTC (I Agree With This Comment). It's like "I quoted this because it's true, and you all should take notice of it this second time around."

Some other ones based on other MMOs (if GW2 adopts the tank & spank mentality)

MT - Main tank, used in other MMOs to describe the tanking class

RDPS - Ranged damage per second, refers to professions who deal damage at range

MDPS - melee damage per second, refers to professions who deal damage in close combat

PvPvE - a mix of player vs player and player vs environment gameplay. Examples are PvP formats that include computer allies, like fort sieges.

AI - Artificial intelligence, general term for computer controlled monsters or allies, also refers to the behavior of those creatures.

max - Maximum. The highest level

lvl - level
