And anyway, I also don't see what your problem is with linking accounts. |

Ok let me try and explain again...
I has to do with how the accounts are linked, Regina said they are linked through an ingame item (where i think the item is just to claim your HoM rewards and she might have mis- formulated/edited her post)... because if the accounts are linked through an ingame item, you cant remake your old character, untill you linked your accounts ... which means you have to make a totally new character first, to go and link your accounts, in order to remake an excisting character name... |

After that, you should be able to retrieve the rewards from you HoM, whether those are titles, items, or whatever else that you've earned. We don't know what the rewards will be. |

Regina said there will be an in-game item to claim the rewards from your HoM, not to link accounts. First you would make/link your GW2 account. Then you would declare your ancestor and/or make a new character with your "reserved" name. Then you would use the in-game item to get the HoM rewards from the declared ancestor. Or not - who knows, who cares at this time. Wait till GW2 comes out, or at least is announced. All this speculation is pretty useless at this time. Last edited by Quaker; Feb 09, 2010 at 09:02 AM. |

It sounds as though the NCsoft MA has absolutely no part in this transfer.
THANK. YOU. |

Srsly though, you should at least let us know how the reward system will work. One achievement-one item? One monument full (example:5 armor sets) - one item? Get the God Walking Among Mere Mortals title to get all the rewards? This would motivate alot of people to focus on certain things in GW1, we are still playing it you know :P

I sure hope we won't be using those PlayNC accounts, I never got my account linked, it wouldn't recognize my cd key.
![]() Although I don't exactly have much to link, might as well make a new account. |

Since the linking of ancestor's will be via account info, does that mean that we can give our characters different names or will the names have to be the same?

Well based on the information sofar, you HAVE TO make new names when you start GW2, with the NEW character you can get the GW2 ingame item to link your accounts, with this linking of accounts any reserved names (as stated names will be reserved, mostlikely via the HoM) will become available for 'recreation' ...

Can you only link 1 GW1 account to 1 GW2 account? I have two or three names I'd really like to reserve, but they're on 2 GW1 accounts. I'd rather not have to buy 2 GW2 accounts straight away just to keep my names!

I'm getting a character for each races. All the 5 names I want are already selected on human characters from GW 1. When GW 2 lauches all 5 names will go to the appropriate characters races. Reserving a name for GW 2 is as simple as creating it on a human character now in GW 1.
![]() I got 8 characters on GW 1 so 8 names can be reserved. No one can create the same name as you. That's all on one account. @Judge What isn't known yet is if all your chosen characters have to have made it to the HOM. My best guess would be only one but to be on the safe side, why not simply take all your 3 names inside the HOM, nothing simpler.

If I can only link 1 GW1 account to a GW2 account I will lose one of my names (because I don't want to have to buy two GW2 accounts for names only). All my characters have a HoM. |

Well then you're screwed as it were. Take the one that has 2 characters link it to GW 2, and tell your 3rd character to bring a monk so he can be revived in the afterlife.
