Obviously this has been updated recently. I'd take the estimation from the ANet employee. Then again, maybe she didn't update the expected date when she updated her job info.
Oh yeah, I'm taking it for 2010 then. Just the fact that she's now looking for a job somewhere else is some indication of how far they are (or should be) with GW2. The fact that it was just this month and she put expected release as 2010 is more than enough for me.

I hope this is true. In the resume where she put kinda expected release as 2010, that goes along with the other comment that next years "convention cycle in March would be too late to start" (http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/...09-t992p4.html post #64). -

I really hope its 2010 and not the 2011 that the investors call speculates. Hopefully that was just to give themselves some extra time in case something happens.

EDIT: By the way, how do you guys find the artist webpages?

I found Fan Yang's website through Hai Phan's website. Many of the artists list their co-workers' blogs on their blog(s). You can always google their names if you can't find someone's blog through another artist's blog.

Well she's concept design, that runs its course well before the full release of a game. So when it actually gets released, may be a ways off from when her work for ANet was over.

• Assisted in Quality Control for several overseas outsourcing studios by providing feedback and adjustments to 3D models.
Just sayin... and either way, it doesn't change my opinion that she was more involved in Anet (which decides how to and when to market its game according to them) than the NCSoft bureaucrats.

I wasn't contesting her connection and knowledge of what's actually going on behind closed doors, I was saying that her predominant work is done in concepts and modeling. She's a concept artist, and they usually find their work in the early and middle stages of a product's development cycle, which is what the bullets would indicate.

Basically, I am saying to keep your cool.

In the end it really does not matter what the reason is why GW2 will be in 2011. I am sure alot of it has to do with marketing decisions plus it gives Arenanet more time to fix things. I just hope 2010 gives us more insight on GW2.

Stop taking it as fact when it isnt. Seriously guys read the press release... The guy says "probably" and "games". He isnt talking about Guild Wars 2 alone. Its a Generalization.

Blade and Soul anyone ? Seems NCsoft wants all of the market before GW2 gets released, whenever that is. I wouldn't be suprised if they pushed back GW2 even further now.

Did you listen to the conference call?

He specifically says NO major releases in 2010, and expects GW2 in 2011.

That said, he could be wrong...

EDIT: decided I'd go ahead and transcribe this. Starting at 21:00 conference call

"And as for the new titles, as we already announced, they are Blade and Soul being developed in Korea and also Guild Wars 2 in development in US. And I believe there will be a certain public event in the year 2010, at this point could be at least a closed beta test for those titles and the commercialization would be expected at this point probably sometime in the year 2011 and I believe those titles will have a degree a huge growth potential for NCSoft as we did with Aion."

Not to mention that fact that ANET has not come on here in a week after this was released and refuted those statements. ANET has not said NCSoft are right or wrong. Yes, I understand its not from "the horses mouth" or whatever. But until ANET says somthing, we have to take NCSoft words as the truth being the publisher of the game... GW2 in 2011.

That sickens me. An Asian Griefshit delaying the release of GW here in the West.

Some people don't seem to be aware of how to cope with the stages of grief; the healing cannot begin until you accept and move past the first stage: Denial.

2011. Likely to be pushed back more.

Theres no denial. Theres reading a conference and theres an employee posting her predictions. "probably" doesnt mean "will come out in" on my english, especially when talking about 2 games and not just one.

Also Mordakai your post confirmed what i said so im confused. He doesnt specifically say no releases in 2010. He says theres a beta in 2010 and releases probably in 2011 when adressing both games and not one in particular. I really dont believe GW2 is that far back into development, its unthinkable given the current info we've been fed aka with an alpha already up aswel as combat systems. Youre not gonna tell me they cant create enough content with the engine working in a year, especially given they have already started.

A lot of the best games were heavily pushed back, though. And I think everyone would rather avoid it being rushed, with so many expectations.
