and since Emily playied guild wars 2 and designed an event it suppose to mean the mechanics are done. So.... why another year? and about playing to closest game realesed then... i must say that we need something to do beside playing our hoony baloonies down the hall (which have been what im doing since) we need a good game i already considered "World of Warcraft" even after i swore under the sword of Balthazar never to play it and u know that we keep our words. But Balthazar started to lose his worshipers and if its going to get out in 2011 I think Balthazar's flames will perish. May Balthazar flame's empower us, Grenth schymitar embrace us, Dwayna's rain comfort us, Melandru's seeds guide us, Lyssa's beauty amaze us and most of all, the new youngest god among all, who have yet to experiance everything in the gods realm, may Kormir's truth shine upone us and amen to that |

Yeah, because that would be awesome from ArenaNet's perspective if they gave any concrete information in a stockholder meeting. Clearly they did not, at this conference call, want to talk about 2010 releases. ArenaNet has already in the past had to have a key developer write a response to what was said by NCSoft at the stockholder meeting. It is information, yes, but I don't think it is as definitively concrete as most of you make it seem. I wish Regina or Martin could comment on the subject, but just like the dude at the meeting, anything they say of substance will very nearly bind them.
"OMG, Regina said that he was wrong, and we should stay tuned for official news. That means 2010 release!!!!!1!1" "OMG, Regina said he was right, and we should stay tuned for official news. 2011 release, qqqqqqqqq." "OMG, Regina said information pertinent to shareholders is different than what they want to tell us. *flips a coin* 2010 holiday release11!!1!!!!!" |

Longer Development? I say THANK GOD. This is a blessing, what I don't want to happen is this:

I hope for a release in the late half of 2011 or Dec 2012(hehe). At least! |

It's a good thing GW2G made this public, now Anet will have to answer it some way or another.

I have said it once... no twice... heck I have lost count how many dang times I have said this...
Able to buy on 04/22/2011... And then offical server lunch on 04/28/2011 It makes sense... the game should be fully developed, fully tested and fully polished by then... and in time for the 6th Anniversery of the original game. ANET is a very nastalgic bunch, so it suits them to do that. As for NCSoft to tell ANET not to lunch... I think its more ANET telling them they are not ready to lunch. I am sure if NCSoft had an option to go to for next year, they would lunch atleast one game due to the down side that AION is facing atm... I am sure if the game had more EoG areas before lunch, it would not be suffering so badly. Which is why ANET is probably taking their time. They want a full game... not a 3/4 game. Also, like someone else said, it gives me a chance to make a new CPU before then >.< Last edited by Sabre Wolf; Nov 10, 2009 at 11:28 AM. |

Wow...impatient people of the world. Those who expected it next year were a bit more hopeful than realistic. I've seen what happens when you rush something this size into operation before finishing it (See Star Wars Online). It is a nightmare, not only for the devs but for all the players.
ANet seeems like they care about the product they are producing and are putting forth every effort to make it a great experience for all the GW fans and soon to be GW fans out there. 5 years for a production like this isn't actually that long of a time. While some may think that ANet should have been producing GW2 while expanding GW1, well their original intent was to make GW1 better but they realized they couldn't really expand on it with the current engine which is a very modest engine. They needed something robus. So they expanded GW1 to help bridge the gap between GW1 and 2. At that point they shifted resources to GW2. If GW2 is anything like they are boasting, then the devs have got their hands full. If you want a repackaged GW1 then yeah they could release it in 2010 or even pushed for 2009. I think they wanted to provide an experience unlike any other and to do that they needed quite a bit of time to figure out their new engine, physics, character design, story arcs, event systems, etc.... I don't think 2011 is too long to wait for a game that we all will be playing well into the next decade. The new engine will allow the devs to be more dynamic when they start adding expansions and creating new experiences that will help maintain the fun factor for many many years after the release date. This game should be able to knock WoW out and send Blizzard back to the drawing board. |

Great news! With every PvE-related stuff done on GW1, now I'll have more than one year to play other games, go to college and eventually forget about GW2.

![]() No, its good practice... people should get information from multiple sources so that the information is more fact then fiction. Last edited by Sabre Wolf; Nov 10, 2009 at 12:56 PM. |
