Exclamation Guild Wars 2 - Possible Gun Art?

When Arena first started thinking about GW2 the subject of guns was brought up and no one in the incredibly talented concept department was working on gun designs as they had much more important ideas to develop. This was at the very early planning stages and I was looking for things to do so I just started to do these pieces on my own, with no art direction or design input. These ideas were simply my attempt to create some art that MIGHT be relevent to future projects and since I left Arena in 2007, I have no idea what direction the designers have decided to go in since that time. I do have great confidence that whatever they decide to do, it will be great for the GW universe and for you fans of the game. As far as the philosophy behind the art, I just wanted to create firearm designs that loosely followed the aesthetic for the races I knew about but also to have some fun and not be constrained by too much of the science behind "real" guns. So, sadly, any of the threads that use my designs as a foundation to guess what might be in store for GW2 are not based on any sort of fact, just my scribbles. Remember, ArenaNet has some of the industry's best concept artists, I can't wait to see what they have done for the GW2 universe.

Just to be very clear, none of the designs that were on my website were in any way part of the GW2 pipeline when my tenure there ended. That is why I was allowed to post them on my website. The images are still the property of ArenaNet and I will always thank them for allowing me to use them. I am still in constant contact with my friends at ArenaNet and am anxiously awaiting their next offering. The GW2 trailer was amazing.
This thread is to discuss the concept art, not whether or not you want firearms in GW2. Please refrain from making off topic posts, they will be deleted. Thanks.

His previous in game work.

No way, ice and fire bullets? Plus the different ways to input the bullets in GW2.

ACTUAL ASURA GUN?! If Arena-Net owns it there is a 99% chance you can find it in game.

Another one owned by ArenaNet

Possible GW2 scythe skins? Also owned by AernaNet.

Possible human gun, seems average but it is possible to find this in game.

Not confirmed GW2 guns:

Tengu Gun, judging by the gold/orbs and similar designs to GW1 tengu weapons

Sylvari Gun, wooden, the cryptic design. I think this one fits best to the unknown race.

Norn Gun, Ice, check, and steel, check, must be norn.

Charr Gun, the ridged design, colors, plus it is similar GW1 Charr weapons.

Unknown categories

What do you guys think? These images were taken from 2 dimensional artwork on his page, hard to miss but people might wonder.

Awesome, it's weird that his resume says he stopped working for ANet in 2007, and he doesn't have anything to do with GW2.

Anyways, I wonder how they'll be put into gameplay.

Oh, one shot gun blades =) So much for all fears of automatic weapons =) If you need a bayonet on your gun, it's most definitely not overpowered.

Looks really good. Although, sorry ANet, but I don't like idea of firearms in the game.
The guns DO look good, but for once firearms is something I'm not waiting for in GW2... I think that firearms should be left for FPS games. When I feel like firearms, I pop up BF2142 and play for 30 minutes.

If you look close at the Charr in the trailer (see also the wallpaper:http://img29.imageshack.us/i/charrgw2.jpg/), you can see a rifle there. The Charr to the left and in the background holds a sort of barrel. He is also wearing a band with ammunition.

They are 1 shot guns, not much of a FPS

I saw that to, but it had been a shady subject... until now.

Looks like my Sylvari Derv is going to be having some shmexy scythes to carry 'round.

Some of the guns look like they don't belong in GW, but it seems like it's too late to do anything about it, and Anet has somewhat restored my faith in them. I'll leave it to them.

I really believe that, that was a polearm of some sort, or a long spear rather.

But I love the gun to the right of the axgun. Also, different bullets? Yes.

It was most likely a gun. It looked like a gun, and hje was wearing a bullet strap.

I never noticed that, I just thought it was armor. Compared to the Charr holding the flame sword with his weird armor, I wouldn't have noticed it at all either
