I couldn't see that armor going well with any race other then Sylvari. So either armor becomes stylized to the race wearing it, or all armor sets look the same on all races.

They've said armor only comes in heavy-medium-light, and then obviously whatever style it's from. So 'ranger plant' sounds like a outdated description from their own explanations of the armor system, unless there's more than they told to it.

It's just an artistic description...It probably pertains absolutely nothing to gameplay.

It's a Ranger, wearing a plant-like armor.

armor will be light, medium, and heavy, but will they also have different armor for each of the races (if not only changing how it fits)? I think that they will have variants for each of the races and plant based armor is bad....

Agreed.

People tend to take little details and a concept itself too literally.
Concept art is just a guideline, a base, an inspiration.

Maybe I'm not getting it right, but I thought that the armor sets were by race and not class this time around?

Correct.

Race and class would give them 30-50 different combinations to make several sets of armour for, which would require a whole new art department. Since you can't have Asura armour on a Norn, classes had to take the cut.

Well, there are instances of similar styles on both - but they are presumably redrawn so they don't look silly.

Perhaps an abandoned Asuran city. Or just a building.

My bet: Depths of Tyria structures that is said to be predating humanity and is what the Asura structures are based off of.

Hmmm...so if the structures are similar to those in Altrumm Ruins (which the Kurzicks did not build), maybe the asura didn't build the structures in Altrumm Ruins.

Who ever connected the Asura to the ones in Altrumm Ruins? I mean, those in the depths which are "must be Asura" are even hinted at not even being Asura (in other words: The Asura are, by all implications, unoriginal with every kind of structure they have, and just simply modifyinig ruins.

The wiki said that the asura likely constructed the ones in Altrumm ruins; that's what brought it up. I don't even remember what they look like, so never mind.
