Default GW2 Videos

Hey there,

I seem to have problems playing the GW2 videos on my computer. When I watch them off Youtube or the official website they work fine, but when watching them in Windows Media Player they cut and freeze the video at parts, at other times skipping drastically, while the audio works fine and carries on.
In XBMC I don't experience any cutting, while the audio moves ahead of the video itself by a couple seconds.

Anyone else experiencing these problems? Or can propose a solution?
Thanks,

when i encounter a problem like this the first thing I think about is updating...

updating the media player, your video card driver, and directX for ex.

Otherwise, the application you're using to DL the youtube videos may not be adequately storing/playing/manipulating the data. May want to try another app. with the same functionality, just to test.

I've upgraded everything to the latest version. It's also downloaded from the official website. I'm pretty sure nothing is wrong with the file itself, as I uploaded it to Youtube to check and it was running smoothly.

XBMC fixed the screen cutting/freezing that occurred in WMP, but the video lags behind the audio, out of sync.

Ditch WMP, use VLC.

Actually, VLC gives me the freezing video problem more than WMP does,... While the music keeps on playing, ofc. It isn't as if VLC is the all-mighty media player.

Yeah it's just as Naoroji said, I still get the freeze, and they totally crash the program itself.

Maybe something is wrong with the file O_o?

There can be a number of causes to this problem:

-Your computer or videocard is not powerful enough to decode the movies in real-time.
-You have a bad or outdated video codec installed which isn't as optimized as a newer one.
-You have an old video driver installed which isn't as optimized for video playback.

If VLC doesn't perform well, that pretty much means it's most likely your slow computer that is the cause.

I wouldn't exactly call my computer slow with dual core processors @ 2ghz, 2 gigs RAM, and an nVidia 9200M series card :P

I'm pretty sure I have the latest codecs, but I'll check again.
EDIT: Yeeeah everything is updated. I'll just give up on it. I can always watch them on the internet, I just would have liked showing the videos to friends when I go around or just for the sake of easier access, but whatever.

That's actually a slow computer and mobile graphics card for HD playback! Laptops are definitely not capable of HD movie playback, newer one's are, but even then they seem to struggle during high bitrate scenes. To give you perspective, my overclocked computer @ 4.4GHz and 2.1GHz DDR3 uses 40% of it's available power to decode 1920x1080 movies through software codecs. The 9200M is capable of 16 GFLOPS, where as an older GTX 260 is more than 50x more powerful!
