Interestingly enough, many of the people I've known hated Kaiden but loved Carth ;p

In regards to ME2: I've got the normal copy pre-ordered from EB Games so I can play it quickly, and I've pre-ordered the CE from Amazon to get the good stuff. Can't wait.

Carth is a character from Star Wars the Old Republic, another Bioware game. The same actor also voices Kaidian (who I also hated).

Well, for starters, it seems to me like the voice actor is... muttering half his lines. I can't even understand a lot of his dialogue. Plus, his storyline is probably the worst one of all 6 squadmates in ME1.

Ashley's got her daddy issues, Wrex has his honor to regain, Garrius has to choose between C-Sec and Spetere, Tali has her pilgrimage, and Liara has to deal with her mother and the shame of being "pure."

All those storylines advance and are addressed in the game.

Kaidian's storyline, about being trained and abused due to being a biotic, is already resolved YEARS before the game even begins. His storyline is the only one of the 6 squadmates who doesn't advance at all.

I thought Kaiden was a very boring character. I definitely didn't hate him as much as the racist zealot that was Ashley, but he really didn't do anything to stand out. His backstory and dialogue was all very dull and I just had no interest in him at all, and like was mentioned above, he's the only character with no kind of progression or advancement at all. He was just sort of there..

Haven't played the iPhone game, but I'm sure Miranda and Jacob will be far better human characters. They certainly couldn't be any worse.

Nah. Not that many people seem to hate Alistair from DA even if he has his very own fan base.

Kaidan probably just appears horribly flat and boring. However the self-restraint stuff is quite understandable to me at least. When you go to great lengths in helping the one you love (killing an instructor in his case) and then you get dumped because of that show of caring, it can really hurt. There is actually one point, at least when romancing him, where you can tell him too loosen up.

I hope they actually grabbed that for ME2 or at least for ME3. I liked Kaidan, but truth be told, I'd like him to man up more. Even Alistair seems more manly than him, at least he has the guts to open his mouth and piss people off.

ME2 seems to favor "bad ass" characters and while about 90% of the community seems to be thrilled about it...me, not so much.

Eh Olvi, prior to Mass Effect 1 being released everybody was complaining about how "OMG Wrex is just a mindless brute." I'm sure the characters have more depth in the actual game then in the trailer.

Steam off-course, you can preload it, no drm and auto updates - takes the cake every time.

I wouldn't know since I only started up Mass Effect during the fall of last year. But yes I know, prejudices prejudices...still, I'm not excactly interested in any of the new squadmates. Especially Miranda and Subject Zero

Not the Old Republic.. Knights of the Old Republic..both 1 and 2

Regarding his Voice acting..(Carth Onasi)..he was WONDERFULL in Republic Commando.. his voice fit perfectly with the character of "scorch"..demolitions expert...i never found him boring in Kotor Series Either...i actually thought that Johani..i believe was the worst...but HK by far was the best one out of all =)....

But yes.. i dont think i be pre-ordering the game..but il deffinetely pick up CE eddition..if it be available.

Pre-ordered my CE from CDON ages ago, however I suspect that I'll get my copy a day or two after the release date. It happened with Oblivion pre-orders back in the day, some people got theirs two weeks late cos' they had run out of copies. This was some other company though so maybe this one will do what it promises.

OK...I have already seen part ingame footage on stream. I'm not going to spoil anything but I all can say it was awesome. The camera angles, the atmosphere... they have put a lot of work into characters emotions and the combat is great. They also have improved greatly the hacking minigames and the QTE are really funny in this game.

Warning, this game likes to play with feelings, dark twists and unforeseen consequences. I have only seen Archangel recruitment and it was really impressive.
