It is strange... did anyone notice a difference in the male voice between games?

Very nice. I was thinking "oh please show us another cool big thing at the end and not the wurm" I got what I wished for, but it wasn't what I'd expected...

Anyways, thanks again for finding it!

I think Caithe's voice is rather trite. I don't know about you Americans, but the whole fake English accent just doesn't pull off.

Charr's voice - Amazing... Anet doesn't even need to pitch-shift it like I thought they had.

Logan's voice was undeniably authentic. I could definitely see passion in the acting.

However, Zojja still fails for me. Her voice is just too American... too cheesy if you get me, lol. A child-like voice just doesn't suit a god damned alien ready for a bloodied battle.

Cool.

I guess my wish of seeing some kind of developer diaries came true.

More stuff like this ArenaNet pretty please!

That doesn't really sound very asuran. How about "A race of small immature know-it-alls who like to watch their toys smash things"? =P

We Yanks are pretty stupid when it comes to "exotic" accents like British ones... anything sounds good. But, point of contention... is her voice trite because of the accent? Should be sound trite as a sylvari with key, hidden knowledge? What about breaking the fourth wall where sylvaris emulate humans and therefor we need accent emulation? hee hee.

Anyway, looks awesome. Sounds like a lot of voice work went in to this MMO. And two videos nearly back to back. I just can't believe with the speed they are delivering things that 2011 is when it will be.

Yes. And the fact that she is actually American is just a bonus.

Sorry that was pretty much incoherent. Could you rephrase that, please?

"We" or they?
Well I suppose the Sylvari could have some degree of admiration for the Humans, but then, why imitate their accent only above every thing else?

I like Caithe's voice... but then I'm American, so I have no idea how an "English" accent is supposed to sound...

There is an obvious contrast between the gravelly voice of the Charr, and the cutesy voice of the Asura....

Maybe one reason the Sylvari and Asura are so disliked is not just the look... maybe it's the voice as well? (for the record, I like the voice and look of the sylvari....)

It wasn't intended to sound "asuran".

I think Troy had the best voice.
But omg, "Rytlock" was really scary when he talked normally... O_o

Except that's currently how Asura are portrayed to be. It will appeal to some, but not to others.

all us americans pretty much get our british accent from monty python and the young ones, with the younger from that host on dancing with the stars or even worse, simon cowell..

I kinda like the asura voice.. it actually fits the trailer- she sounds genuinely full of herself =] kinda fits anyway when your already insulted in gw1 by the krewe

actually come to think of it.. the asura should have had the british accent XD

Well, what were you talking about?

Do you wish the Asuran were more Alien and violent? I don't think Anet is going in that direction. They have always been described as smart and clever... and a little immature (see Asura quest for big ears, ie, sexual prowess).

http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Oggy

I mean, the lead Asura in Eye of the North was voiced by The Brain!

And I so hope that voice appears again somewhere in Guild Wars 2! Maybe for a male Asura?

No. I like the Asura's demeanor. I was merely stating in my opinion that Zojja's voice appears to be incongruous.

I was referring to Greibach's phrase construction of the Asura.

At 3:28 Kari says that Caithe will pop up with information that noone really know how she got. Now isn't that intresting? What could Caithe possible want to tell all millions of the new heroes of Tyria (us)?

Now we know that Caithe will pop up and tell us stuff, and that Logan will sit on his office with us comming to him (from an interview).

About Zojjas voice, I have to disagree with you. I think it's perfect. It sounds very arrogant and, um... Asuraish at least IMO. I think Felicia has done a great job

I don't think she meant that Caithe would randomly appear at different times in the game to tell us stuff, but more that she could be a very valuable story tool.

Her connection to the Dream means she knows everything that has happened thus far to the World or Landscape of Tyria. Maybe even, The Dream informs Sylvari of things yet to come.
