I'd say normal thing would be to party with several henchies without really wanting for full human group and later swap em out for humans as you meet them in field. If game is less quest centric and more event centric (= less quests means less diverse goals that break partying because people are rarely quest synced and not everyone want to tag along while some random guy finishes quest that you did while ago or which you will do later adter you finish prereq.); it would be much more natural to just join group if you meet one because your goal will be exactly same (participate in event). |

First off, thanks for the translation, Naoroji. =D
Some nice little bits of info in there. I hope that the 'henchman' are more like NPCs that are involved in the events, and less like the [Blood, Earth, Healer, Prot] henchman that you chose to bring with you, but I'm sure I'm going to love the game either way. Just comparing World PvP with an RTS got me excited. I love the idea, and hope that it comes out as awesome as it sounds in my head. |

Which would seem awfully hard to do in a persistent world. That information was also released like 2 years ago, things might have changed now.

@ Zwei2stein (your name sounds dutch btw
) - i know about the event system, but there has been said (cba to find source though ) - that 'the entire game will be solo-able' (could be 'everything but a few dungeons and a little dragon', but it was along those lines ) so for that you don't really need Henchies. with the event system, if it works as great as we (or I ) - hope it will, it will attract a lot of people who are around the area at that time. So there will be plenty of people to form a party with, if not just fight alongside them. so again, no henchies needed.so that leaves me wondering.. why henchies? (or something alike henchies, I know, we don't know anything about the game yet :P) Quote:

Handlangers means like your crooks that help you like you say in evil term of saying like you have the maffia and they have their handlangers so with that it means like helpers. And to bad i don't have money for the megazine :P.

Thank you for taking the time to translate the article. Little bits to add to the overall picture are a great help.

A better translation for "Handlanger" is probably "partner in crime", so don't start whining about the possibility that the old henchie system will be back.
It could also be like someone already pointed out that you could get help from passerbys, like guards etc. |

As far as the world pvp goes I am interested to see how that plays out. It could end up like isle of conquest, or it could be the most fun world pvp ever. It all depends on the design and also the will of the players.
WoW pvp was so awful because a carebear mentality was instilled within most players from the moment they created their characters, so when it came to pvp you had people with the wrong attitude pvping. If people had taken to pvping out of pride and the pursuit of mastery of one's character, world pvp might have meant a bit more. Instead it became "i'm not going to do this if i dont get loot for it". |

Yes, as Jecoma said, handlanger can also mean something along the lines of 'accomplice',... So, we'll just have to see, okay guys?

All in all, this was a great article, I went to the mall and read it and it gives some new info, not just recycled garbage, so let's all be happy and cheer for the Dutchmen (for once in our lives, Noorderbuurtjes!)!!!!!
