I havn't found anything on this elsewhere so here goes. Does anybody know if GW2 will use the same district system as in the original GW?
I.e. will you be able to quickly and easily change which district you are on and be able to play with anybody or will there be a seperated server system as there is in many other MMOs? |

From a Guild Wars 2 Guide. From this read, it will be more like in other persistent MMOs. You will be able to switch to several worlds and servers as you would districts. It may not be as immediate as transferring from district to district. Perhaps you will choose your server of choice upon entering into the game. |

"The changes to persistence and instancing in Guild Wars 2 seem to be an evolution rather than an evolution."
![]() Anyway, thanks for the replies. I am extremely happy that you will still be able to quickly change between servers. I absoloutly hate the fact that in many "MMOs" that claim to have hundreds of thousands of players together, they are infact completly segregated into seperate servers that you cannot move between. In my opinion, a server should be just that - a server in the game, not a closed game community in itself where the players are cut off from everybody else. |

I may be wrong, but I beleive that the district you were on when you teleported did not exist in the new place. Districts are created and removed depending on how many people are in an outpost, so very minor outposts will only have a few districts.
