Prepare for the Festival of the Four Winds!

In order to celebrate the (iminent) launch of Guild Wars 2 in China, Arenanet will be re-running the fan favorite parts of the Living Story.  The festival of the four winds consists of the fan-favorite Zephyr Sanctum, Crown Pavillion, and Queen's Gauntlet.  The release will be on 20 May 2014.

Since the Bazaar and the Crown Pavillion originally took place in July and August, they're happening now either due to pleasing Chinese players as quickly as possible or because in July/August something else might happen :o

Why is that?  There's nothing that says a content re-release has to take place at exactly the same time of year as it first aired.  Unless it is holiday related, which neither are.

Bazaar of the Four Winds and the Queen's Jubilee were both meant to be one-time patches.

Since the possibility exists that ANet might introduce a top 100 ladder with Sanctum Sprint this time around, I'd like to promote that people interested in getting good at it look at my YT videos on Sanctum Sprint, where I try to finish as fast as possible.  I'll be working on making another video with some more polished techniques for the full checkpoint run which should come out tonight or tomorrow.

Well, technically, Crown Pavillion originated as a way of celebrating the anniversary of Jennah's reign (hence - taking place at a specific time in the year) and when it comes to Bazaar, they used to stay up in the sky for a whole year before going down to refill their supplies. Not that I want so badly to defend this point, though - it's just a reflection.

Actually both of them were confirmed to come back.

As far as I remember they did say Bazaar and Crown Pavillion might come back, probably because they were both pretty popular and not particularly tied to the LW storyline. It's probably just a way to tide people over until the next real updates. And the Zephyr Sanctum makes sense with the China launch since the aesthetics of the bazaar look very Chinese.

Do you think there will be anything new (like new Gauntlet bosses)? I doubt it, but it would be nice...

Nice! Really excited about this. I honestly I wasn't expecting anything so soon.

Yeah the Pavillion was a part of the Queen's Jubilee, which was a celebration of 10 years of Jenna's reign, so I suppose technically ANet should wait until 2022 until bringing that back lol.

The Zephyrites are supposed to just occasionally descend to the planets surface for trade, didn't see anything about only once a year. :/

Torment recipe was during the Nightmare Tower event. You're probably thinking of Malice or Bursting, both of which are from the Crown Pavilion and are good for condi builds.

No matter what their landing routine is or what's the reasoning behind Anet's actions, I'm glad we're getting to hear this song again.

Per the wiki, you purchased the Rune recipe form the Grove Emissary in the Crown Pavilion at the Jubilee.

The others are definitely good to for condi builds. :)

The video gives off a strong Canthan vibe to the way they've decorated the Sanctum this time.  I've heard some speculation that they may also run the Dragon Bash there as well after a few weeks.

Ah ok, I was thinking of the sigils. For Jubilee runes, Perplexity is probably the better condi option, unless you apply torment frequently in your build.

Perplexity Runes are going to plummet in price now.

It's strange that Anet skipped over Dragon Bash when they said that Dragon Bash was going to be an Annual event. I guess No Lion's Arch = No Dragon Bash.

Well, the Jubliee should be at the same time of the year. Basar is kinda open but it was said to be yearly, which would be roughly at the same time. While it would be "ok" I'm fairly certain there is no story on lore to this...

Hm?
Dragon Bash doesn't take place until June, so it is still fully possible that it will come.
Skipping over something would require it to be past the time of the event, don't you think? ^^
