Arenanet is here with a new blog post detailing the final BWE changes and this is probably something that everyone who participated in the last two BWEs should read.

Quote

Reminder: Beta Info Will Be Deleted

Before this final Beta Weekend Event (and before Guild Wars 2 launches on August 28) we’ll delete all existing beta information. Every beta character and all information or items associated with them will be deleted. However, we will be preserving your beta account’s contact list so you can easily connect with your fellow beta gamers during Headstart Access or after launch.

Yay!  I'm glad characters will be deleted ... but boo!  That means I MIGHT be tempted to check out the Sylvari or the Asura.  NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!  :D

I'm glad characters are getting wiped. Now I don't need to choose between my high-level character and trying out the new races.

Also Keg Brawl sounds awesome.

so characters ARE deleted for this beta or ??? I honestly would hope so imo.
Gives me the chance to make an sylvari without being compelled to play my higher level toon.

I haz a plan!  Instead of being tempted by the two final races, I'll play a Charr!  *cheers at her cunning plan*

Character delete didn't matter to me as i will be checking out asura and sylvari.

Keg brawl sounds awesome.... Is it me or does Foefire sound like a Alterac Valley type map or GW1 map.

...I guess we don't get to test out the level 35 Dungeon.
(Which was clearly received the most negative feedback & requests to fix)

I guess they don't care about fixing the dungeons (or need more time), and they just want to sell the half-a-million free beta keys.

Nice :)
That sounds awesome! Only sad thing is that our characters will no longer be there...
I like that we can already buy gems and will have them at headstart - that way I can purchase my extra-characterslots quicker. I like it!
And I can't wait to try the keg brawl!

I doubt that is the case. The most probable reason for a character wipe is to simulate launch-day conditions with all the players starting new characters.

I did expect the wipe before release but I wonder why the wipe before this beta?

First thought was "Wipe doesn't impact me as I'll be living on my sylvari characters!"

Second was "Why wipe characters if they want lots of people to see the new 17-20 area?"

Ideally, this will be their greatest stress test to date, as they are funneling the vast majority of players into the shared lowbie areas of the Sylvari and Asura, since these races are both the shiny new object and an anticipated release for past beta testers.  Well played, ANet!
This beta weekend we’re introducing objectives for solo players called sentries. As you can imagine from the name, sentries are solitary NPC guards located on a capture point that are worth points if you can take them out. But be warned—sentries are no pushovers!
Yes!

do you think the pre-purchasers are that many more than the potential hundreds of thousand beta keys distributed for this event?

i am not sure, but either way, there will probably be many, many characters in the asura and sylvari zones, to be sure

Same here, wanted to explore the new added area in the final beta.
Oh well, :( I'm not motivated to start all over from level 1, just to explore the new content.
I am saving the creation of Sylvari and Asuran after the released day.

I may skip this last beta till Aug 28.

or

not... he he. ;)

I can easily imagine NCSoft execs rubbing their hands together and laughing maniacally at the outlook of selling free beta keys. MUAahahaha!
You need to check your blue cheese intake, buddy, it might have messed with your frontal lobe.
