ArenaNet has just announced launch times for Guild Wars 2, including launch times for pre-purchase and pre-order headstart times. Now all we need is a finalized server list!

  • Pre-Purchase with 3-Day Headstart: Everyone who pre-purchased Guild Wars 2 will enjoy three full days of Headstart Access. The three-day Headstart Access will officiallybegin at 0:00 AM Pacific time (GMT -7:00) on August 25th. However, please note that in order to ensure that we’re fully prepared for that fateful hour we may bring servers online up to 3 hours prior. If you’re a player committed to getting in first to grab that character name of your dreams you’ll want to be keeping an eye on things during that time period.
  • Pre-Order with 1-Day Headstart: Those who pre-ordered Guild Wars 2 will be able to participate in one day of Headstart Access. The one-day Headstart Access will begin at 0:00 AM Pacific time (GMT -7:00) on August 27th. NOTE – Pre-Order code registration is now enabled.
  • For those players who have not pre-purchased or pre-ordered the game, Guild Wars 2 will officially launch at 0:00 AM Pacific time (GMT -7:00) on August 28th.
  • Download the Client today: If you’ve registered your pre-purchase or pre-order and created your Guild Wars account you can go to account management today and download the client. Be sure to update the client periodically to minimize your download at launch.

Very good news about the possibility of servers being opened up to three hours early on the 24th/25th.  I predict a lot of clicking on the "Play" button during that time.

Kind of expected it, happened the same with most of the stress tests and beta weekends. That's it, 6 AM for me!

Oh crap, and here i though i could wake up an hour before and sart at 9am fully rested, now i'll need to wake up three hours earlier :(

Slightly confused! So instead of 8am GMT (bst) it could be anywhere between 5am-8am?

anyways indeed good news but the 3hr period is also expected, I wish they wouldnt have announced it so I could sneak on by myself :)

it's currently PDT here on the west coast.  so it's gmt -8.

PDT = GMT-7
PST = GMT-8

So, that means up to 3 hours of spamming the play button =c

Possibly longer given the history of MMO releases.

They better open it 3 hours early, cause I don't wanna be waking up at 5am to spam the login button for 3 hours. Or I'll be all up in they grill, CUZ IMA THUG! (not really)

Excellent, i get to wake up, at a comfortable hour of 8:00am and play GW2 for most of the day.

Sucks to be in america i would think, 2-3 hours before you need to sleep (well that's when i'd stop at a midnight launch anyway)

I have to imagine there will be someone - SOMEONE - kind enough to post a message here saying that the servers have opened up the moment they do.  No need to spam the Play button, just keep an eye on things here.
