Observant eyes have noticed that Amazon has recently added a song for Guild Wars 2 titled "Fear Not This Night (featuring Asja)" by Jeremy Soule. While it's still listed as unavailable, those who want a small taste of the song are able to listen to a short sample until the full track is released this Friday the 17th. Fans of the game will also be in for a surprise since this song just so happens to be the vocalized version of the incredibly popular tune featured in the Gamescom 2011 trailer for Guild Wars 2.
According to Game Designer Matthew Medina, ArenaNet's own Ree Soesbee (author of the upcoming Sea of Sorrows novel) wrote the lyrics for the song herself [*].
Over on rumor mill, fans are speculating the purpose of this song. Will it be used for a final launch trailer? Are players going to hear this after they strike the final blow against Zhaitan? Personally one of my favourite soundtrack pieces. I would love to hear the full version.
Somehow, I don't think it would be a new trailer, as trailers don't tend to include vocals. It may be a different one using the piano theme though.

What is really intresting is it seems to be a 5+ minute vocal version of the infamous Gamescom 2011 GW2 trailer theme.

I think your making conclusions too quick. first of there is a 1 cd soundtrack included in the ce. further there is a 4 cd soundtrack on sale separate. So a lot of GW2 related music is getting out. So I think your making some dodgy conclusions, but then again. You could be right.

[/quote]I think they only offer e-mail support...so perhaps they will just e-mail us the full MP3 when we open a help ticket. That way we could get the song without paying on Amazon!

I dunno, Skyrim did it. And if they don't have any ArenaNet developers talking, it should be do-able.
