Guild Wars Reverie Event
Quote
The spirit of adventure is always moving us forward, but it can be difficult to reflect on the journey while you’re in motion. Recent scholarship has unearthed a festival, once observed by our forebearers, that addresses just this notion. The Wayfarer's Reverie honors the traveler inside each of us, encouraging revelry and revisitation. The world is yours to explore—again or for the first time. Join the celebration!
The reverie event update just went live to Guild Wars 1 yesterday. Arenanet is offering every single Guild Wars 1 player who has traveled around the game a tormented weapon for completing a series of quests that will allow you to re-visit the viewpoints of the first game. Simply complete four quest chains throughout all three games and the Eye of the North expansion, and players will receive one random tormented weapon upon the completion for all four of these quest chains.
In addition to earning Hall of Monuments points with the tormented weapon, players will find enemies dropping special trophies that can be trade for party and sugar points for their respective titles, allowing you perhaps max them out to add them into your Hall of Monuments, too!
Finally, all weekend bonuses have been enabled all at once. This means you will earn double faction points, double Luxon/Kurzick title points, double Eye of the North reputation points, and much more. These bonuses can also help you max out those titles you need to complete your hall of monuments.
The event runs from now until August 30th. Placing items and titles in your hall of monuments will add to the rewards and titles you will receive in Guild Wars 2. In order to view your current stance, check out the Hall of Monuments calculator.

It did go live on Friday, but it seems to have lacked decent exposure. I hope this can help people fill up their Hall of Monuments for Guild Wars 2.

The quests are just fun. Especially if you're with a group of guildies and talking on vent at the same time.

For those that's only been playing for a short amount of time, it won't give much of an advantage either, because if you're aiming for 30, it still takes quite a bit of dedication (and let's face it, lots of grind at this late stage) to get to there. I had 28/30 up to yesterday, but thanks to this festival, I got 1 more point, which led me to pool every single penny I had to buy diamonds and other mats for 1 more destroyer's weapon, giving me the 5 statue valor award - now I'm 30/50, after more than a year's worth of casual'ish play.
Needless to say, I'm very happy.

Took our group about 8 hours to finish these. Not free. Not exactly the cost of an armbrace, but, still, not free.
I get the sense it was really just for getting people over the edge, picking up another reward or two, and reducing the amount of grind for people who were already going to be putting the time in to farm points. The amount of reward completely pales in comparison to how much is needed for 50 points, or 30 points, or even 5 points depending on where you are in the progression. This doesn't diminish that at all. If they were giving away multiple prestige armor sets, or titles, yes, I'd be a bit more annoyed about that.
I also found it nice to go to all these places. Didn't know the pale tree already existed; that was pretty awesome.
