We are sorry to inform that the State of the Game stream will not be happening. We are recording it locally and will be releasing a video as soon as possible.
What happened?
To secure uptime and reliability on the stream I had two connections setup so that if one went down I could immediately connect to the other and continue the stream.
And now, it all sounds good but what went wrong? For the first 15 minutes I were attempting to connect to our stream through my connection 1, and every time we went online it would get shut down by a massive amount of requests. How do I know this was DDOS? I had prepared my ISP for this as they are a rather small company they quickly noticed the increased requests and called me within a few minutes of the first shut-down asking what was happening. Sadly they do not have the capabilities to handle this and decided to simply shut-down my connection 1.
What now?
We are, as we speak, recording this locally on my connection 2, which has not been taken down. We could have streamed it from this connection, but due to the risk of this connection getting taken down we decided to just record it locally so we get some content out of this.
I apologize to everyone, ArenaNet and Guru for this.

It depends on how much editing is required. Hopefully it won't be a few days worth.
We'll be able to have a better back-up plan next time, but since so much time had passed we thought the better idea was to get the ball rolling rather than wait longer to set someone else up to stream this round.

u shouldnt worry about the state of eles right now , i'd rather worry for other things such as loading screen bug ruining paid tournaments for 2 weeks so far , custom arenas /monthly tournament and stuff like that.

Also, editing? A livestream wouldn't be edited so the uploaded footage shouldn't be too. Faster upload > better editing. We want the info ASAP.

Curse Network is partnered with own3d.tv, which is why we use them for livestreaming.

Why take an extra hour to fix streaming in some capacity when you can 'take a few days' to upload a youtube video. Absolutely horrible on Guru's part and am rather upset.
Would also like to note, why are you editing something that was supposed to occur live. Why not upload the raw video so we can actually get information, the entire reason this was supposed to occur, then edit the video and replace it when it is completed?

Fair enough. But please give us the unedited footage ASAP. "A few days" is unacceptable for such much-needed pvp information.

Because people took time out of their busy schedule to participate in this with us today. It's better to record locally and upload it once we've finished editing so that we don't further waste their time.

And I made time in my busy schedule to participate by watching, which I now can no longer do. This is really all pointless anyway, as you should have tested and had backup plans already in place for something so promoted. But thats another discusion.

I think most of us would be happy with even just audio or a transcript.

I'd actually like a transcript more than a video. More info, less noise
