Actually I don't know why we're all getting so excited for, especially since we are already expecting the game to be released by the end of 2011. That would mean closed-beta would be in 2011 too. :(

Man, I hope I can get a new computer before then.  I have serious doubts on whether my current older laptop can handle GW2 very well.  I might have to sign up for them with my wife's computer, since she has a much more powerful one right now.

Closed betas may or may not have sign-ups.  I was under the impression that with ANet, any closed beta wouldn't be involving fans in general.

definitely sounds more like bad news than good news to me. Mainly because it seems that it's possible that they won't even be entering open beta until 2012, but that's all really dependent on when they start closed beta I suppose.

thats what i was thinking, but they did already say that they had some type of alpha i would say because friends and Family have gotten to try out the game. So i mean really only Anet knows.

They'll have to have both people if they want a quality test.

You need the technical people to look into mechanics, skills, and to basically "break" the game.

But you also need first impression people, just to see if the game is enjoyable, is at an average difficulty level, and to spread the word when the NDA is lifted. :)

Just as a note, I noticed the "How many professions does Guild Wars 2 have?" question does not include the Guardian, since you mentioned you updated the FAQ.  However, I'm sure you were only updating certain pieces.

I was in the Battlefield Heroes beta and enjoyed the game for a long time after release, I only stopped playing when the cash shop weapons became overpowered which is something I don't see happening in GW2; mainly since the weapons are gotten in game. I really hope I get to go into the new version of Tyria as soon as possible.
