There was such a question but i wanted to make such a suggestion for devs to include a small clack visible somwhere on the main screen during play.
It is always nice to know what time is it without need to have a clock around or having to switch to windows to check there.
I know it is most likely it will be included, i just want to make sure it is not missed ;)

i do expect a clock in the game. But a clock that is for the in-game time. Anet has said that day/night cycles will be shorter than in rl. Wich is logical.

I don't expect them to make a rl clock or have 2 different clocks.

I would like to see an ingame time clock, and also a real time clock.

ingame time clock because of there is a day/night cycle that actually affects the world, so there are spawn changes at night and some events are only occuring at morning/night. If you have an ingame time clock, you will know how long it takes until it is night or day. If there is no ingame time clock i would like to see something like symbols representing the sun/moon rising in the sky.
something similar to this:

real time clock: i would like to see options to show/hide it. Also i would be happy if it is only showed up if you open the menu (settings, graphic options, support).

Most MMO's have a real-time and a server time clock. I doubt Guildwars 2 lacks something as basic as this.

Please, please, please give me an option to enable real-life clock in the UI. I horribly miss it in GW 1. Alt-tabbing just to check the time is tedious.

In addition to having an in-game clock, I think that considering that GW players are from all around the world that Guild Wars has its own Timezone/24 hour time system as the standard across the game.

All events/festivals etc then will be set to GW Standard Time which would have its own Real World conversions. It would help to make organising trips with friends so much easier.

True. I got used to yust real time clock from WoW which actually showed the same time for my time zone because there passing time was same as in RL. With the day/night shifting in GW2 a bit quicker than RL i hope both clocs will be included or as mantioned aboth a clock for RL time and some sun and moon symbolic feature for server "time".
and my HBW to this is about 7.

In-game clock: most definitely.
Out of game clock: don't care. Get a clock on your desk, or take out your phone, if you need it that badly. Obviously I won't mind if they include it (as long as I can turn it off).

In GW1 they had a really nice feature (imo) where they'd warn you if you've been playing too long. Every hour they'd say "You've been logged in for (1,2,3...) hour(s)". If it got over 4 they added "Please take a break". That was pretty nice of them, and I'd expect something similar in this game.

In addition to that I would think an optional GUI clock would be nice. I run dual monitors, so I don't have that issue, but I can see its utility.

As for in-game passage of time, I'd rather see something like Minecraft has, where you can guess-timate the time based on where the sun/moon is.

a clock that can be toggled between real life and ingame time seems like a good idea to me :)

In WoW they had the server time displayed under the map, and you could mouse over it to show real life time. I found this invaluable when I was playing fullscreen but the need for it was quickly reduced once I started playing in windowed mode (Which resulted in everything being fatter :D). If GW2 is able to go into windows mode, I won't mind there not being real world time being shown, but if not, I need to know when it's past my bedtime. Having a clock on the screen makes it so much easier to even REMEMBER to check that you're not losing sleep rather than looking at phone or up at the clock on the wall which means you have to take your attention away from the screen to do so. It seems like it's just me being lazy but I cannot tell you how many nights I have stayed up because I forgot to check my phone while playing FPS games. :/

This is what I was/am missing most in GW1. An ingame universal clock. Sometimes Anet relied on PCT time, sometimes GMT, sometimes GMT +1 for events. Urgh. And it's easier imo for guild leaders to organise guild events this way. Time convertors on the internet aren't always reliable, or sometimes Anet wasn't. Events started later than planned. (Please include some ingame calendar to for (guild) events). And a clock with your own time would be nice too. Then U don't need to toggle between desktop and game everytime, or log into a town, because it's too dangerous otherwise.
I liked the wow solution for it.

Meh that always made me feel bad D=. ahah. And the break was at 3 hours I think..

But yea in game clock could be great. If it isnt there Ill just take my cell phone next to me so its not that much of a deal..

I agree with everything Rito said.
The hourly update in GW has been very useful, I usually do take a break when it asks me to, and I get something to drink, stretch my legs, or check in on my brother, or whatnot. It's a healthy encouragement and makes it feel like the developers really care about your well-being!

And watching the sun/moon in Minecraft and being able to determine the time, as well as which cardinal direction you were going, has always been fun. It would be a neat addition to have a dynamically rotating sun along with an in-game clock.

I would prefer looking at the corner of my screen and seeing the time rather then always looking back at the clock.... I mean I wouldn't be the end of the world if they don't include it but I doubt they wont

Or just get a clock in general for your room? Chances are you'll need one to wake yourself up so you can also use it to look at the time. I have mine at the end of my bed. It acts as both a clock and an alarm. :)

most ppl that don't have a wrist watch have a mobile phone / clock in the room?

I don't mind if it's in there, aslong as I can turn it off, same with the you played x hours.

It's gonne be a game in which viewing the area is needed (pvp) and nice (pve), I don't wanna fill it up with unneeded features.

I don't see why people would be alt-tabbing in GW1 when it works just as well windowed as in fullscreen.

Press alt-enter and then drag the window frame to expand it to the edges of the screen. Boom the little windows clock in the lower right corner will tell you the time.
