Guild Wars 2: What We Know
#1

I've compiled everything that's been said in recent interviews and articles into one spot:
http://www.iloveguil...2-what-we-know/
A quick (lol) read through that and you'll be up-to-date and ready to speculate!
I have a mess of references for everything; if you think I'm wrong on something or want to know where it's been said, I can try to dig it up.
Yay see ya!

I just thought I'd point out that we don't really know what are the racial abbilities, except for the Norn and Sylvari, iirc.

Either way, nice job =). I was thinking about making a list on this forum that links to all articles along with information about what information of the article is important, but this is better x'D.
Thanks for putting in my article as well, though ;D.

The interviewer asked something like "Do asurans use golems and Sylvari the tree thing. And do all races have such abilities?". The response was they can't reveal what role golems and the tree things will play in the game. But rest easy that races will have comparable abilities.
That response given in the interview, was tackling two questions thrown at the same time, not necessarily because golems/tree things are racial abilities. A lot of people inferred it meant golems/tree things were revealed as racial abilities. It didn't really do that. You got to get into the head of the person being interviewed to understand why he said what he said in that moment.
Regardless, very nice article. Lots of information in one place. :D

But I have to admit, your article doesn't include a lot of detail in it - especially for the races.
Though, there is a fairly good amount of information presented in it. Good effort overall.

I know 'bout the Norns, but where do they say that the Asura's racial ability is controling the golems?
@Allias: I don't think Nox's purpose was to show lore, but a simple overview about what we know as of now.

Very nice article that presents just the facts of what we know for Guild Wars 2. :)
EDIT: For Nox...
A level cap has not been officially confirmed by Arenanet. We do know that level 20 will not be the cap, but the current unknown is what the new cap will be or if Arenanet will use a scaled leveling system to allow unlimited levels.

It's a physics engine.
I don't like citing wikipedia, but ... I don't really know much 'bout Havok to answer your question properly.

You are right, Eric Flannum's response doesn't directly answer the golem/druid question. But by saying "they have comparable abilities" in response to this question, and then using the Norn's shapeshifting as an example, well, that seems to link all three. To me, that makes the Norn's shapeshifting an example of an ability comparable to the golems and "druid" thing. I could be totally wrong. Thanks for getting me to double check it.

As it is now, it's indeed a nice summary, but with the references in place, you could make it into a the source for Guild Wars 2 information.

That's a relief, I didn't think an unlimited level would have been easy to integrate into the Guild Wars world.
*Crosses fingers for a new cap of 60 or lower (preferably 40)*

Or something like that.
All characters get HoM bonus's, HoM bonus's will also be purely ornamental.
All races have access to guns.
Sylvari are psycicly linked by their dreams not some "awesome power".
your post fails :)

Each race has a number of factors that will change their personal story, and are very relevant to the character, although no powers are granted:
Sylvari: Season of birth
Human: Racial heritage
Norn: Animal totem of choice
Charr: Legion affiliation
Asura: College of magical thought
where was this confirmed? I don't recall this being offically confirmed, but rather speculation.

so solo power leveling will probably be the wtg after all the content is completed.. doesn't matter what the max cap is really- if the skills are anything like gw1, you can come up with builds/equipment to do the job quick
maybe a way to make extra money while doing it too.. power level yellow bus riders- then trade the money and de-level them before they can run for the door
make sure he has a rit buddy and have him bring death pact signet

It was Onlinewelten's first ArenaNet interview, and Eric Flannum said it.

Well well, someone doesn't like Crafting 0_0.
Either way; at "Racial Differences" -> "Personal Stories", shouldn't it be "Later, the player will unite the races to fight the Elder Dragons threatening the world."?
