So we will get fancy steampunk airship in GW2 (and I do like steampunks), but what about those who will man it?
Design your own fictional GW2 character, who will be the captain of such air ship. Or the crew that goes with him/her. You can also go more extended, and design your own air ship too.
Give you character a name, a nickname, a bit of bio. Dress him and her how you like (to the theme of a air captain or crewman).
Also Fic writers are welcome, to post some passage about the adventure of Airship captain, captain logs or journal, or just bio descriptions.

Asura from the College of Dynamics, one of the many asuran skyship innovators.
He's your typical oddball genius asura, who only happens to have a krewe because his unusual behaviors entertained a few children from here and there that decided to follow him. Issye still doesn't know if that counts as kidnapping or if it's up to irresponsible parents, but doesn't bother to think on it too much. He does tend to avoid those places where he "caught" the children, though, just in case.
Issye first decided to set out to make and operate his own skyship when his attempts at creating levitating golems mostly resulted in many either floating away from retrieval like the stones around the Tarnished Coast or when they rocketed away with his would-be apprentices to parts unknown. After years of work and many more unfortunate incidents, he finally did create a skyship, only to his disappointment to have it finished as soon as a bunch of others did.
After learning of this, he decided he would make the strangest skyship to float over the continents of Tyria, be it in outward or inward appearances. Not content for the skyship alone to be unusual, he decided he would make himself the oddest asuran skyship operator as well. Unlike the rest of his asuran brethren, this means he tries his best at humility and kindness, much to the surprise of the other races he encounters. Though this doesn't mean he won't use his wits to manipulate those around him, and in fact he finds being humble and kind makes it much easier, but of course he won't mention this to any other asura.
As to his appearance, Issye wears a unique tuque with an opening and a baggy end that hangs behind his head a little that he claims catches the breeze and tells him its speed. It also has two little antennae that project from it with little windvanes hanging from them that he says tell him the direction of the wind. (His krewe often complain of him going in the wrong direction when he turns his head and the windvanes go off a little as well.) Below the antennae and on the brim of his tuque are his goggles, which Issye is constantly tinkering with to make them capable of telling him all the information he gets from his windvanes and the baggy end of his tuque, to no avail.
His bodily attire is rather similar to the typical asuran style, albeit less bright and more earthen in color. For the most part he keeps his clothing strapped down besides his tuque, as he claims that while he doesn't have a fear of heights, he does have a fear of being caught in the complex wind currents of Tyria. When the winds really pick up, he's even been known to strap his ears down to his head, despite his krewe's need to communicate with him during these dangerous moments for all of their survival. It's not uncommon to hear of Issye and his krewe somehow surviving from yet another crash, and for Issye to keep his ears strapped down for several weeks supposedly "until they stop ringing" though his krewe knows well enough by now that it's so he won't have to hear their complaints.

here she is Captian Black Mamba of the airship slitherurthroat :p
learn to fly airship as a stow away, was adopted by the airship captain later on, she poison the captain and took over the airship "bubbles" and rename it the slitherurthroat. Sworn rival of the Charr, Last seen bombing the Charr's Black Citadel with kittens. :D:p:)
The dreaded pirate Za'atar! The spice of the sky. Using illegitimate means to get his hands on top secret Charr flight technology, he is wanted "Dead or Mostly Dead!" by the Iron Legion. His ship, which he calls the "Enb'eth", is a peculiar sight. While most air fairing voyagers opt for clean and reliable asuran powered ships, the Enb'eth bellows plumes of black smoke. This can probably be attributed to the simple fact that Za'atar doesn't fully understand the Charr technology. The benefit of the Charr engine lies in the simple fact that it can break down anything into fuel.
While asuran ships will need to stop at various dockyards to refuel, the Enb'eth marks up the sky with its blackened trail. It isn't the fastest ship around, but it will last long after the others need to stop. Leading Za'atar and his crew to the farthest reaches of the sky.
Sky Admiral Helina "Swan Queen".
Captain of Golden Wing Gloria the III. Windcutter Cruiser Class A.
Darn it, where are her goggles? No rockin' scarf or pilot cap, either? Oh well. Guess she kicks it old school. :p
Vera's greatest honor was holding the shores of the Tarnished Coast against the first waves of Zhaitan's armies.
