Downloading it right now after someone in my guild on GW2 was talking about it. Hopefully this will be the very thing that will make me fall in love with Diablo-style games once again. Torchlight 2 bored me to tears. It was just killing monsters and getting loot. I didn't really see much of a story at all. Diablo 3 was fun as hell (pun intended), but it repeats itself in Nightmare and Hell mode and you need to go through those just to level up, which is stupid and boring. Hopefully the maps in this game are truly randomised.

PoE is free but I wouldn't expect much here.
Wonder what Diabloish games you fell in love with that had actual story. Only Divine Divinity comes to my mind.

game is practically released:
-is everything better than GW2(graphics, storyline, quests, animations, loot, dungeons, class system, skill system, combat system, progression, voice acting, script-writing)
-cash store is purely cosmetic, something that arenanet failed to do
-free to play
-makes arenanet look like a bunch of lazy pigs
First impression:
First innovative MMORPG that doesn't suck hardcore since GW1

check it out

Graphics and animation and quest system better then GW2? ahaha dude you are blind . GW2 graphics are lvls above that game. The game is insteresting but compared to GW its nothing special.

I don't see how those 2 can be compared like this to begin with. One is top down action rpg/hack and slash and other is mmorpg. Different ideas for core gameplay and what not. Not to mention one was heavily funded while other is made by indie company. Unless "killing stuff" makes games similiar enough then we might as well start comparing both to fps games.
Only thing that is worth comparing is cash shop/story. Other things like animations and graphics will of course be worse in PoE because no one spent several millions on development process and compromises had to be done somewhere.

Maybe, but is it too much to ask for a reason why I'm killing millions of enemies?

And when I ask the same about death mechanics in MMOs, I get the tag "crazy".
Yes, It'd be nice if you had more explanations in today's games...

Well in GW2 you are supposedly saving people. I agree - in every other MMO there isn't much point. You see a mob standing around and you decide to kill it. It would be like us walking down the street and deciding to kill someone's dog. It doesn't really go together...
