Really enjoyed listening to this, seems like a good start! You have a very good speaking voice Bridger and obviously very knowledgeable (as are the other guys). Just a shame there's no female speaker to add a slightly different flavour, but overall very good. :)

We were hoping for one.  I tried all the women I had contact with that might be interested, but to no avail :(

I thought you don't rally by downing someone in PvP. You rally when they are defeated. If you have that "barely-won epic moment", and the vengeful bugger downs you anyway, you should still have the advantage in the resulting standoff. Two downed enemies: Winner rallies, loser dies. Is that not way more intense?

Everything else, though... awesome. Keep up the good work, I look forward to hearing more from you guys.

Somebody else made that point, and I think it's a distinction we all forgot during the show :P  I'll make a correction next week.

The intro was surprisingly good IMO, people who attempt such things usually end up making it cheesy and embarrassing to listen to. Probably because, for them, it doesn't come out natural. It sounds like they're nervously reading from a book with a gun to their head.

The hosts voice is also pleasant to listen to, as well as the co-hosts. Well done, I think I'll really enjoy this podcast.

Thanks, I think I took about 50 tries to get that intro to sound as good as it does, but still be short enough that you need to skip it every time.  I just like that music so much :P

concerning the thief having no condition removal abilities (and assuming it will stay this way): i guess it's Anet's intent that thief players mostly try to not get conditions thrown on them to begin with. a rather anticipatory and avoiding style of play. quickly strike the enemy and then disappear even more quickly.
nice podcast, i actually didn't expect to like it. especially because my first thought after reading about it was "another podcast ? don't we have enough of those already ?" :D

Yeah, there are quite a few.  I wouldn't have started another if I didn't think I had something unique to contribute.  I've been doing podcasts (or shoutcasting) since 2002, and I hope that experience provides for a better show.

But it's important that there are lots of podcasts, because otherwise what am I going to listen to? :D

That's a great point about the thief too.  I hadn't considered that till now.

Nice team of casters you have gathered for this pod.
Nothing new for us that are familiar with the game but I think that it can turn out really well.

That's specifically why I put the "What We Know" segment at the end of the show.  I figure for people who follow the game's progress they might not be interested in the laying out of the facts in that section, but might be interested in the discussion/news sections earlier on.

Currently planning for weekly episodes where we will discuss other games as well as GW2 ("what we're playing" segment) so we don't run out of material too quickly.  I expect the beta will give us a lot more to talk about in a few months.

I agree.  I never liked listening to podcasts, but this felt so friendly and made me laugh on multiple occasions.  I enjoyed listening to them and I look forward to Episode 2!

It was good, but there where some parts in the show that sounded like someone's dog or cat was playing with some window blinds behind them, Or playing some kind of game.

Make sure that all the people in the show lock their pets out of the room and aren't playing games while they talk on there, and the pod cast should be fine.

Also it's a good idea to do a bit more home work before you try to go in to detail on how something works and how to make it better. The downed mechanic only brings you back if you kill some one, Not down another person.

So, If you go down, then you 1 hit the other guy and he goes down, you both would be in a downed state and now fighting in Downed state mode.

If one of you dies, then the other one Pops up with half HP.

I had to skip over that part of the pod cast for the fact that your theory crafting was useless with the way you guys thought Downstate in PVP works.

Other than those 2 points I mentioned, It was an alright show.. Could use a female perspective on the show as well. Good luck to ya :D

Yeah this really annoyed me, it wasted a good 10 minute segment of the podcast. A few other negatives:
- The occasional distracting noise, tin foil, birds (I'm sure it was a budgie I heard at a few points)
- Some people seem a bit too quiet and I really have to listen i.e. not do anything else so I take in the information.
- A female would be nice, could be a bit easier on the ears depending on the voice

Twisted Metal covered most of this but I just thought I'd reiterate. Other than those few points I enjoyed most parts I listened to. :)
I did eventually stop because it just seemed like you guys were repeating information I already knew, but I'm sure this will be improved once we have new information or the game is released.

Nice podcast. A little speculation that has been proved wrong here and there. Particularly with the idea that for some content you will 'need' a certain class with a certain build. From Gameday we know this is absolutely not the case and that us folks who are theorycrafting are pigeonholing classes like the Guardian into holes they don't necessarily fit it.

Over all I enjoyed the podcast a lot. :)

Working on that.  It keeps telling me the podcast has no episodes in it.  I think you need more than one before iTunes will recognize it.

Also, you can subscribe manually by copying the podcast feed URL and going into iTunes menu "Advanced" then "Subscribe to podcast" and pasting the URL.

That was actually someone in another room in Freelancer's place moving hangers.  We found out after that Skype was using the wrong mic (not his good headset mic, but his crappy webcam mic) and was thus, picking up things it should have been picking up.  This is corrected for the next episode :)

Had quite a few people point this out.  I honestly can't believe we all missed it >_<

That's what I've been saying!  But we haven't had any luck in finding one :(

Thanks for the feedback everybody!  Episode 2 should go live tonight :)
