GW2O: We’d love to know more about Ebonhawke. Is there something you could tell to us about the great human fortress in Ascalon? How big are the “Hawk Gates”?
Eric: The gates of Ebonhawke are enormous! Estimating their height by comparing them to my human character, I’d say they stand well over a hundred feet high, probably closer to two hundred at the highest point of each hawk. Ebonhawke is one of my favourite places in the game as it has a nice solid fortress-like feel while at the same time being quite beautiful. Our artists did a phenomenal job with Ebonhawke.
After read this, i like the fact that in this game aren't mount, expecially flying mounts, because the first time that anyone see this awesome build remains shocked.
I'm hoping that the game will support at least italian subtitles.
Good interview Albert.

Eric: We are still in the middle of creating many of our faces, so I’m not sure exactly what all the variations will be like. I will pass on your request to our character art team, though!
Yes please!!

Eric: There are no current plans to include different types of noses, lips, or eyes independent of the face, but players can fine tune those features using the built-in sliders.
NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is SO disappointing.

I agree. That is extremely disappointing. It would be more bearable if the sliders actually made a difference. Unfortunately, it's hard to even tell that someone changed them afterwards.
GW1 clones all over again :(

I'm definitely excited to visit Ebonhawke since it's a key part of the story I've added to my character.
Also,

I think it's the Ministry's private army disguised as bandits.

no offense, but just curious, why do you care about a detail as minor as eye color?
i have never in my 12 years of playing MMO's zoomed in on someone to see what features they have, especially as small as eye color. people actually notice that? or is it because you want it to have the eye color you have in real life? in which case i still dont understand why anyone would zoom in and admire their own character features.. but to each his own i guess.

I like to look at my characters. Has nothing to do with any real life stuff. It is more about imagination and the RP thing. I am totally vain about my characters looks even though that I am not IRL.

I'd wager that the interview was conducted in English and then translated to Spanish for their readers. The English version should be expected to be the more accurate text.

The numbers for Ebonhawke in meters are more or less the same than in feet (60 meters = around 196 feet which is the number given to the highest points).
The article is a little short, but I guess that's better than nothing.
I think that there are going to be strong customization options to modify noses, eyes, etc... Just using the originals on that face as a base. (This last thing is personal opinion, not facts from the spanish version).

You will definatly be able to change eye colour because I remember them showing the types of eye available for asura.
I dont think the sliders are a good or bad thing, if anything I think they add more choice, because before jumping to conclusions, we have to realise that we dont know the extent of the sliders for each feature, someone could be able to create a completely different nose with the sliders. I also think just having sliders preserves the art style and immersion which is way more important to me.

Well at the recent demos the eye colour was predetermined within each face. So, while there were different eye colours, if face A came with blue eyes, and Face B came with brown eyes, you couldn't swap them over. So, the different asuran eyes came with different faces.
However, they did say, following a lot of people requesting/complaining about the feature, that they would consider implementing the option to change eye colours, which for the asura would presumably include the option to change between the styles of eye as well. But this interview obviously comes after those comments, so I don't know if it's a feature they will definitely add or not. I could even be that they add it post-launch, for all we know.

It's simply a feature that a lot of other MMOs offer, and some, including myself, find it to be one of the most subtle ways to differentiate your character from the masses. It might not be noticeable on the battlefield, but it makes your character feel special.
Also, interesting read, the bandit tidbit was a surprise. I expected words about centaurs.

Some games have Mr. Potato Head style interchangeable collection of noses, lips, and eye structures. Other games have Sliders that encompass all possible choices. Other games have Sliders with predetermined upper and lower limits for each face that give you variety but makes sure you don't go to an extreme that would look okay on one face and bonkers on another. I think all the quote establishes is that they're going for one of the last two.
I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to change eyecolor.

That could just be placeholder, but I'm also going to assume that we will have the ability to change eye color in some fashion. It may require that you alter the whole "look" of the eye though.
