Will the Quest Log in GW2 be able to track quests? As in like other MMO's have something similar to: Available, In Progess, & Completed.
Thanks.

Your Journal keeps track of your Personal Story up to the point you are in it, including the decisions you've made. Your Home Instance will also reflect this, but less directly. The Scout system (the little gold hearts on the map) tracks how pleased certain NPC's are with you for helping them. Other than that, there really isn't anything to track because there are no quests.

...except for the Dungeons, which feature a progressive story and as such should be recorded somewhere. Dungeons are repeatable, even Story Mode, and the primary rewards for them are special item skins. We don't know what sort of recordings will be for them yet.

You will have a journal, where all your completed dynamic events and such are kept, and since there are no real quests, you can't have an Available and In Progress tag, so instead all available "hearts" (quests) are shown on the map, when you go to a scout and all nearby hearts and dynamic events are shown on the top-right side of the screen.

Your main objective is also shown in the Journal

There are no quests so I can't imagine there being a quest log. All of the choices you make in your biography and personal story are recorded in a journal you can look at any time. If a dynamic event is in progress you will be able to tell by looking at the right side of your screen.

There are no traditional quests in GW2. The personal storyline is something that is the most similar to quests. There is a journal, where important things, in connection with the personal story, are recorded and you can always read through what happened with you so far.

Dynamic events took the place of traditional quests. These events happen around you in the world, so you can't predict or track them. There are no quest-giver NPCs. When you wander in the world and explore, the game notifies you that there is an event nearby and in most cases you can see it too, for example a smoke in the distance or running villagers.

However there are scouts in the game, who show you a few places where DEs could happen. These places are marked with a heart on your map and as you complete events in the area of a heart, the symbol of it starts to fill up.

You have what everyone else said plus you have a list of current Dynamic events near your current location you are participating in.

If you watch the videos on this forum thread:
http://www.guildwars...pve-t22282.html
Look to the top right hand corner and you will see a list of dynamic events he is currently participating in, As he moves out of the area it gets removed from the list, and as he move in to an area the dynamic even gets put in to the list.

There are no traditional quests like in other mmos, so no, You will not see a quest log like they have, but there will be indicators on what you have to do next to accomplish the objectives of the area.

Think of Morrowind's journal system, that's what GW2's "quest log" will be.

In that picutre Dilum put up, where it says "Slay the Shatterer", what are the 3 symbols referring to? One is a gold diamond, the other is a purple triangle, and the other looks like gold. I know one is karma but what is the other one?
