In an attempt to unclutter things a bit in here, we're going to have one sticky that links to all the profession guides.

Feel free to PM me if you have a question regarding moderation, want to leave some feedback, or just want to chat!

That's a good solution, thanks. Better than removing them completely, definitely, as I don't think all these posts and discussions should be lost...

Dunno how much work would be involved, but another thing i've seen on some websites is that they break up each class into a different sub-forum under the main "class" forum. SWTOR official forums is a good example of this.

There is the main area where you have general discussions, like who is playing what, what are the best groups, talk about scholars/soldiers/advent in general, etc. Then you can click on the specific profession pages to go talk about that class.

I thought SWTOR did a pretty good job of it, but I agree that this method, of condensing everything into one page is "cleaner" than having a bunch of stickies.

Having said that, since we cleaned up the front page I really really think Vosakans Skill Compendium II ought to be stickied since it has so much valuable information and is more up-to-date than the wiki.

i really dont think those are actual guides, more like bunch of random posts and opinions from people. i remember seeing people actually making proper guides(Elementalist) in this case and it was locked or removed because these already existed, i hope in the future maybe closer to launch of the game we can have proper guides for all the classes, that really explain skills and mechanics of the class.

I'm thinking a new post should be made with updated information on the professions, then have it stickied. Most of the old pages were outdated, and a lot of the discussions were on mechanics no longer in game. *cough* poison arrow *cough* /shudder

Agreed. Not only that but its been the most consistent source of info on skills/traits (updated with every demo build and backed by footage) and will probably continue to be going forward.

I agree also with Veritas, the original posts where not a guide but more a summary of the professions.
The true nature of the problem is that the lay out of this forum is kind of hard to use with Guild Wars 2 because what we have now is that topics pop out of the ground like crazy in the Vigil Academy section with the [PROFESSION HERE] tag.

It's very unorganized and chaotic and this is even before game release so I expect alot more discussions when the game is released.

A great solution would be that each profession had it's own section where people can start their topics in about the respective profession rather than all topics of every profession in one general section.

World of Warcraft it's official forums are the perfect example, that's why I support an official forum for Guild Wars 2 but nonetheless I'm perfectly fine with GW2Guru.

Agreed that we'll eventually need updated content that's more guide-ish! Of course, things are changing so much right now that I hope no one invests too much time into that kind of thing.

This sticky with the links is a placeholder until we get an idea of how the forums operate without the other 8 profession stickies. Profession subforums are incoming :). However, this isn't the appropriate section of the forum to discuss such stuff, so I'll be locking the sticky now ^_^
