right, new project... don't know whether I'll ever do the whole thing, but for now it's something I can just pick up whenever I like and work on it for a bit and doesn't require a huge deal of artistic inspiration (because I'm, ahem, copying a concept piece :p) and that's nice for once

thanks, Doc ;) I had some ref for the pose, but I agree that it's a lovely dynamic-but-natural pose, which is quite hard to get from stock

well, I finished it just now after... uuh, 8ish hours? not all in one go, but I really really enjoyed doing this. was definitely a challenge to finally do something large in pixel (which isn't copying something), but I'm very happy with the outcome :)

I really like the pose and the hairstyle, also nice that you gave the clothing a natural look and not red/green/pink/blue/rainbowz (lately those clothes @ mmo's or anything else, start to annoy me, idk why)

Great coloring work Morag!   The final image is really striking and you did a nice work with the composition.   I think you should keep exploring the larger scale images considering how nice this one turned out.

by the way, am I the only one who's irritated by the forum's tendency to "downsize" pretty much every picture?? What happened to the no-more-than-600x800px rule on GW1 guru, that made things so much nicer to look at :(

That is a really nice piece of art!   That guy (?  Never assume!) is so full of character :)   He could fit into the GW2 setting, couldn't he?

What do you mean by downsizing the images?   You mean the downsized previews?

yeah, I mean the previews. on the old guru, as long as the images were within their 600x800 px limit, they would display in the forum post in fullsize... I don't like the way the preview blurs pictures... I'm a bit funny like that.

well, it's not technically on topic, and certainly not GW related, but I've been in a flap all day over getting a DD for one of my photos :D SOO EXCITING

I'm determined to do some more sketching soon, though!

Wonderful new pics Morag!   I like Eryn's design.  And whatever size pieces you manage to do are fine.   They all look great.

I really need to try the Guardian, but I'm worried I'll like it so much I won't try any of the other professions

I was actually dead set on Eryn becoming a warrior before beta, but fortunately I gave guardian a go and I'm a changed woman it's not that warrior isn't fun, but somehow, guardian is more fun XD

I'm almost worried about trying the guardian from what I've heard because I think I won't have any urge to try any other class after them

haha maybe you should try the others first then I'm happy to leave my Guardian experience as it is for now, and not get too much into it before release otherwise there won't be anything new. But it has certainly made me more determined to look at the classes I did not originally fancy so much, just in case I might be wrong about those too XD

so, I haven't died... I've actually done some art, too, but the curse forums have given me some login attitude lately and I haven't been around much.

Done some commission work:
a tattoo design for Ravenhawk's OC Mina and a painting of the legendary Tidus Yumemiru XD




also some personal (trad) sketchy stuff




five weeks to go until my PhD has to be handed in, then I get a break yay! Just when GW2 is released :3 le timing...

Terrific update of artwork Morag!   The mesmer is neat-looking and that's a very striking tatoo.   The traditional stuff is cool too.  

I don't know how missed the norn guardian art from May.  Esp. since I'm planning on rolling up one of those on release.

Only five weeks to go on finishing your Ph.D.?   Good luck with that!    I remember what it was like.  You can clearly see the light at the end of the tunnel at least.   Now you just need to relieve yourself of the last vestiges of sanity

@ correllis: haha thank you so much, you have no idea how much I fail at expressions all my people end up looking smug, or angry, or indifferent >.<

@ Doc: thanks as always for taking the time to drop everyone a kind line! yeah, five weeks. I gotta fly out to Turkey next Friday to meet my supervisor for final corrections and then it's down to the wire... I can't say how much I'm looking forward to BE RID OF IT!!
