The graphics look strange... are those ingame screenshots or renders? Looks very dreamy/foggy/blury :S

I know I may be slightly graphics-prostitutey here, but does anyone else think that the textures are slightly off?

looks very interesting.. is it possible that there is only one single capture point on that map? Would be king of the hill style, what i would like to see.

(such as, the team wins that can hold the point longer than the other team).

Not surprising considering it takes place in "the mists" :p

It's a new version of GvG. Two bases, flag stand on the upper level in the middle. Down level is a gank route with mists and stuff.

Edit: I guess :p

There’s more… I just couldn’t wait to post these up. The others will get posted as soon as I get a chance to adjust sizes and such.

yeah... maybe its just me, but this screenshot looks particularly... not good? i guess?

the trees all seems poorly modeled/textured. the one darker tree to the right of the ramp up the the flag i guess, just doesnt look very good at all =/

the fog looks great and all but i was expecting a little more... oomph?

So keep refreshing your page! ;)

Ah, and about graphs toned down, keep in mind that you'll have to be able to manage hundreds of players potentially on that map. Making it lighter to show for user's PCs looks just normal to me.

Perhaps it's still a bit Work In Progressy.

I'm wondering what the 'mechanic' for this map will be as there is no trebs that we can see.
What people are calling a flag stand could just be another cap point.
Can't wait to find out what makes this one so interesting :p

They look great, it's cool that you can't see down through fog, especially since it seems like the only way to get up, for both teams.

Pretty neat looking. Although I'd need actual players in there to get a better idea. Scale is hard to determine with just landscape.

A low path that may be faster but lowers visibility sounds really good. I wonder what the secondary objective on this one is...unless this is the one with the dragon flying past occasionally.

Mist or bloom effects maybe? You're right though, those look a tad weird at first...at very first glance I initially mistook them for GW1 screenshots because they have a similar style and the whole shot seems just a tiny bit blurry.

Edit: Actually even after first glance there's a slight GW1 look to them. I'm attributing it to similar style right now though.

Wasn't there the promise that we would get a few WvWvW pictures released last friday that went with the PVP roundtable article?

Quite a lot of the landscape textures aren't amazing in the game anyway. Probably because of the sheer number of different ones (The game will certainly hit around 25GB or so already without uber high resolution textures). There have been a few good textures dotted around, but most are only average. They're made up for by high quality character textures (mostly) and generally having an interesting environment. Textures aren't usually a big deal because things cover them up in the video's we've seen.

Would be nice to have a 'high resolution pack' optional download for the game though. I wouldn't mind an 8GB download or so to have better textures, it's not like my system would cry about it.

Love the atmosphere, the fog and the torches make me think of the headless horseman.

Supposedly... but to be honest, any screenshots of PvP works.

This map looks to be one of the conquest maps (similar to Battle of Khylo). I am very curious what the maps mechanic will end up being. The fog looks like a lot of fun for strategy.
