Anyone else having issues with the prepurchase website?

I entered in my CC details (belgium, visa, security code etc) but I keep getting the message

"the credit card information you entered was invalid"

Strange, this is an existing card, no issues there. Anyone else seen/heard of a similar issue?

Rather not use paypal, so wanted to be able to use my normal CC.

is your credit card expiring this month? When I try to purchase other stuff from other places on the net, sometimes if my card is expiring on the same month, it won't let me.

I got the same problem... try and call your bank, sometimes credit cards are blocked to buy from other countries online.

My Visa CC had the same issue, but my MasterCard debit card worked like a champ. Makes me woner if they don't have some kind of an issue with Visa . . .

If you haven't already tried you should remove the spaces from your credit card number.

No spacesin cc. Iam in nederlands at moment but cc is from home (belgium). Maybe that is the reason.

Is it a Visa Electron / other debit type card?  If so, they recommended using PayPal.

I have the same problem and I tried two credit cards.. I don't leave spaces between the number or anything silly like that. It flat out doesn't work with the vaild info put in.

I'm going to try calling my bank to see what's up.

Had this problem also. It turned out that my bank flagged the charges as fraudulent and blocked the charge. So I just had to clear it with the bank and then I could use the card.

I have a different email account listed with my bank than the one I used for other stuff, so I had to change my email address on the purchase page for it to go thru.

Hey guys.. I'm still getting this error.. and i just called my bank and they said nothing is showing up so they think it's a transmission error.. which obviously isnt the case since other people are ordering it..

I'll try getting ahold of ANet next I guess.. but i'm sure they are flooded right now :(

If anyone else has any more information regarding the "credit card invalid" message please post it here...

Just made an account to reply to this thread. I had this same issue, attempting to pre-purchase the game late last night and again this morning with the same error of "invalid credit card information." I tried using the card through paypal, also to no avail. I tried calling my bank, but they said all was fine on their end. I was using a Bank of America debit card, in case you were wondering. I've also tried using IE instead of Chrome.

Finally, however, using my smartphone and the internet on my college's campus, I tried one more time, and the card went through. I have no idea what was wrong, but my only advice is to try on a different browser (I used Dolphin on my android), or a different internet connection.

Same deal. Used different browsers and IPs still not accepting my credit card. Even bought a cheap $2.50 game off of Steam. Credit Card works, guild wars site isn't accepting it. It would be nice for them to have official forums for me to at least feel like my grievances are being heard.

;well, I tried my android tablet (default browser), laptop with IE and chrome. Nothing worked.

but I suspect there are maybe 2 separate issues at play here.
1. bank "blocking" approval due to "unusual" credit card actions (eg I am currently in nederlands, so bank might suspect fraud). I can test this on friday when I return home and try direct from normal connection).
2. error in the transmit/receive of information to anet. not sure how to test this barring trying a new network.

Yeah I thought it might be the bank blocking it so I called them but nothing...
I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one dealing with this... I'll try using my smartphone and see if that works... I did try contacting anet, just waiting to hear back..

That's not the case: this morning i bought my copy at buy.guildwars2.com with a Vista Electron (debit card) from Italy and it worked like a champ at first try ;)

I'm using MasterCard and it's not working. And I just tried on my phone and that didn't work. So I have no idea... and it's nothing to do with my card since they aren't even getting any sort of transmission on their end. I tried 3 different cards too.. hmm...

I really hope we hear something. There is no way I'm getting this from GameStop.

There can be multiple issues related to this.  (at least the ones I had to deal with with Visa US)

First, NCSoft blocked my CC transactions when they looked suspicous (i.e. if you try to buy with the same CC too quickly it can be flagged).  This can cause you to get an invalid CC.  If you then try to purchase the product multiple times while still getting the invalid CC, your bank can put you on a watch list.  That means that any time you make a large purchase (something over $10 for me) I would be rejected by the bank.

Solution for me:
I never could get a hold a representative to give me help from NCSoft.  I got an email from them around Noon on the 10th asking for more details, but they never got back to me after that.
I contacted my CC company multiple times, it required me specifically asking them if they were blocking me and for me to get in touch with their card services to finally get the restriction lifted.
Although I hate to admit it, I just purchased the game from Gamestop online since they were not causing me any trouble.

I used a visa debit, the purchase went through and I got my confirmation email with cd key, also registered and got that email and yet they haven't removed the funds from my bank account.

I figure it will go through but all other online charges go through quickly.

Yep, I didn't want to but I purchased it through Gamestop online... and it went through without a problem and now i got my code... *shrug* I don't know what the problem was with buy.guildwars2 it seems to only have affected a small amount.. but that's money they could be losing out on.

POSSIBLE FIX!

as the above user posted.. i got it to work

I used my samsung galaxy tab over its 3g connection (not wifi) and used the dolphin browser and it worked

this was after it failing on my ipad/iphone and my windows desktop computer..

so if you have an android device or a friend with one.. hop on the dolphin browser and go pre purchase!

Ok - update on this one.

Kinda answering my own question. But thought those out there with the same issue might like to know.

I was able to pre-purchase from my "normal" PC location. ie bank appears to be a "fraud" control on any internet purchases that were outside my "regular activities". So the transaction would not complete.

I was able to pre-purchase as normal from my Home PC. So those of you with similar problems, suggest that you call your CC company to verify the purchase is not fraud and can go ahead.

The credit card information you entered was invalid. Please try again

I tried different browser, Firefox, Chrome, iPad and changed internet connection

Fixed it on my end!

Made an account to reply. I had the same issue as an earlier poster who is living in the Netherlands but is using a bank account based in Belgium. I'm an American with an American bank account buying the game from South Korea. When I first got to the screen to purchase the game, my country of residence was defaulted to South Korea. I changed it to the 'States and filled out the rest as normal, before getting the error.

But I just tried changing the country to South Korea, but filling out the rest of the information exactly as I would in America, with an American street address, an American postal code, etc. It worked, and I have my CD key! Hope that helps.
