I bought DDE, so I get to use the Golem Banker temporarily. What does it provide that's so great?

Is it inconvenient to find a vendor or storage some places?

It's useful for when you're out in the middle of nowhere and want access to the services it offers without having to run back to a hub.

1. I am hoping it can also be purchased in the Cash shop.
2. I am hoping it can also be used in dungeons.

Just a reminder to everyone.

Golem Banker =/= Golem Butler.

It would just save you a few coppers you'd spend fast traveling to one and the run time to get there.  Could be handy if you're in the middle of a mission too. I just got the regular edition. I'd rather buy a couple extra character slots than the stuff in the DD edition.

This is the same thing as the 'bank golem' you get from the DDE and CE and, word is the golem can open Mystic Chests, which is good news for those that worried that you would be forced to buy the keys to open them.

I'd like to know how you get the golem. I've heard that it's a rare drop but who knows if that's the case.

I didn't see anything that said "open mystic chest"....the guy in the video had one in his inventory too.

That's a very useful bit of kit. I see it does pretty much everything.

The journo sounds like he'd be a baggies fan :)

I think it will be veeeery rare. Their "repair kits" from item shop wouldn't sell if ppl could simply use this golem for repairing armours.

I bet it's a consumable that lasts for 7 days and costs about £3 - £4.

I would say more like 7-10$ =P You don't even have to visit towns when you have it so it's a HUGE convenience item.

The poor thing! It loses its arm and tries to reassemble before breaking completely... THAT IS A HORRIBLY SAD ANIMATION! Please give us a portal or just de-rez the creature! :qq:

So what is the difference between the butler and the banker (from DDE/CE)?

It's possible they could have redone the banker and turned him into a butler. I noticed that you could basically "bank" with the butler, but he certainly had a lot more functions that just that. If there is a difference, I'd just say that the butler looks like a banker with a lot more functionality. I wonder how they're obtained? Hopefully some in-game ways and perhaps cash shop also. And how many times can you use them?

Both dde and ce get a golem banker. The one in the video is a 'Personal Delivery Golem' which lasts for 5 minutes and the contract is listed as 'Soulbound.' I'm guessing the things included in the dde/ce functions as the asura bank portal whereas this model has more utility, though things could have changed since.

I think that it would be quite annoying to see that golem following me all the time. Just a personal impression.

Ehrm.. Isn´t this the Asuran personal story choice?
Like the infinity ball and the thing that changes weather?
Yeah asuras are awesome.

And why do everyone think it´s the Golem Bank? If it was they would´ve named it that way in the title?

It is soulbound which leads me to believe that it will probably end up only being able to be used by 1 character.  The golem butler offers a lot of services that I don't think anet wants freely shared.  More likely they want people to see someone else using it, which then entices those people to go out and purchase one.  (If it is a CS item which it probably will be.)

The golem gives you access to merchant services, your tradeskills, trait resets and a bunch of other useful facilities.

Oh dear.

How much more stupid mechanics will you add, that must be bypassed.

No, it does not matter if the item is obtained ingame also. It will most likely end up as a cash shop item too.

Oh and Look, Master Salvage kit, offers 80% chance and 25% chance of best mats. Not as good as the Perfect Salvage Kit in cash shop.

Oh man oh man.

Can't wait to see the "pro-Trait" fans explain THIS design decision!

[edit: apparently not for free, but still, in the field respec is a huge advantage]
