It seems it's the same as the OnlineWelten interview that Malchior Devenholm posted yesterday. :(

Aye more of the same, I was hoping for some clarity on skills and professions, guess we'll have to wait a little more...

OK, this confirms the German article. Every item in the game developer conference video shown is mentioned except the Spear.

The question I have for Arena Net is, was the lack of a spear mentioned an oversight on the list? or are spears officially not in the game?

They first need to "unblur" the second profession. ;) My guess is one profession per week.

Truley is. I must say that this one (http://www.guildwars.../calculator.jpg) was the funniest so far.

Hoping for more info tonight, info that's new.

Considering the tidal wave of information from yesterday, this isn't really dissapointing. The number of people on this forum who didn't read this specific article, judging from the arguments, is huge, so at the very least maybe some of them will become a little more informed.

I'm personally glad to see this kind of information gathered together in one location. It would be great if the Arena Net blog became more like the Magic the Gathering website, with articles written each week either giving previews or just behind the scenes looks at how/why things are done etc. I'm personally loving the blog and the reliable new information it gives us. Much better than waiting for inconsistent interviews from websites around the net.

Side Note: Dieing for the War on Kryta to kick into gear. Please? Pretty please?

Eric Flannum: Skills can be swapped out whenever a character is not in combat. If a player wants to tinker with their skills while running somewhere then they are definitely able to do so.

interesting...

also: he doesn't answer the question about changing class...

"The variety of environmental weapons in the game is huge and we are adding more of them all the time. One event has bandits burning the local crops, players can go to the well and get a bucket to throw water on the fire and help put it out."

Martin's Bucket confirmed as a weapon!

Nice, that's new info.

I'm wondering if

Quote

This means that as long as I’m actually trying to kill something I’ll receive credit no matter who lands the killing blow.

This means that you can do, say 100 damage, to a monster, and then swap target and let someone else finish the monster for you, and by that get a lot of xp without really doing anything (except doing minimum damage and then swapping to the next target)?
Or will it be like, you'll have to do damage within the last 5 seconds in order to get the xp and loot.

Could someone at Anet explain this?

Guys, take the new article to its respective thread. This forum is starting to get real chaotic and confusing :)

Thanks for the find. Good stuff. I wonder if staffs will have a generic damage type or if it will change depending on an Elementalist's Attunement, for example.

To be honest, I find it quite odd that they're discussing combat before all the professions are known. It would make a lot more sense to discuss it after, because now, while we do get a lot of information, it's limited by which professions are known to the public.
