You can close the launcher and when you re-open it will resume from where you left off.

You can close it and it will start downloading from where you left. It may show you it starts at 0 % but this is based on the amount of files you still have to download and not what is already downloaded and installed.

I'm not even sure if they've updated the site so that button works.  There's a link within the thread in the "News and Announcements" --> "Getting Started" thread for the .exe (which everyone is saying takes you to the cloud-thingy site that was posted earlier).

Yep. It's the same as GW1. It's not exactly downloading a game setup, it's patching. So you see your current patching progress. This is based on the number of files remaining. The .DAT file is full of individually compressed files and these are the individual files you are downloading while patching. This also allows you to be able to stream patch while ingame.

You will get an email with a link to the forums (that are currently down and they are working on bringing them back up ASAP) and on these forums you will find the download.

My question still stands because I got mine from http://cloudfront.gu...aticantremember.  I realize that a ton of people have checked and it appears to be identical, but I'd rather not wait till Friday only to realize I have to start all over again :/

Don't use the button on the account page, it is not working at the moment (as you have already noticed). Use the link in the mail we send you.
