So many!!!  I had a heck of a time in GW1 deciding how to dye my armor LOL.  It's a good problem to have. :)

Thanks for the images!   Very cool selection though I fear how many pink norn warriors I'm going to see in the game lol

The color names like 'Starry Sky' and 'Frosted Sea' make is feel like picking out interior decorating paint shades :)

So instead of MagicTG booster packs you can get dye booster packs. I am glad that they allow you to trade them because it's just a bit too much if you ask me....from the point of view of overcommercialisation that is.

I don't know at this stage, but I do wonder if things like this are going to make GW2 classed with the rest of f2p games after all and make a lot of people wish this game did have a sub to it. Time will tell I guess.

Thanks for all the pics though. There are some really nice colours in there and I wonder how much they will cost on the trade post ;)

Don't forget that it's entirely possible to get the dyes for free by manufacturing them, and that you can get Gems without spending real money.

appreciating the dye system and the color choices.

Oh my gosh, me too! So much more convienent than endless bottles of dye taking up valuable storage space, and having to mix them together to get anything other than basic colors.Plus having to unlock and collect them adds another element of fun, IMO. Midnight Rose is gorgeous, I need to track this down after release!

So many amazing colours and I'd trade them all for a true white.
Agreed, lol. I've been hoping to give my asura guardian white armor with black (or dark blue) trim. :)

well... I was wondering if they had some kind of shaders, some strange reflection like car paints...
the color alone doesn't make it rare IMO...

Here's my black and mithril rare dyes. I'm not going to post my uncommon colors because I didn't realize the mouse-over doesn't show up in the screenshot so I don't know the names of them.

So, on my Mesmer i acquired qute a few dyes :) i noticed alot of the common dyes were motified starter dyes... i.e there were alot of "____ Frost"s such as Violet Frost and Blue Frost. Many of my uncommon dyes were very girly, including alot of pastels.  My favorite was this champagne color that you can see in the pic I posted :) Only rare was purple.

I did get three dye seeds and had the dyes made from them. I even bought two plant foods to speed the process (thankful for free gems this weekend!) The first one I received was the only rare one. The other two were common colors -- I forget which ones. I didn't take screen shots of the dye screen so I'll attach a pic with the armor dyed predominantly: Ceylon. It's a light greenish color.

Rare dye Amber
Posted Image
It is kind of a rusty color orange. Very true to actual amber. It looked good on my helm which had a gem in the middle with amber as the gem.

Unfortunately I didn't realize either that dye color tooltips don't show up in screenshots (why?), so I can't name all the dyes...
But here are the colors I got (and the name, whichever I remember):

Moss Green

Black and White are Diablo 2 throwbacks.

Definitely a fan of the warmer dyes particularly the reds but I also like the black ones like starry night or the straight up black.

What I'd like to see after then next BWE is a thread similar to this, but just a picture of your character after you've dyed everything- the whole "ensemble" so to speak. I'd be really interested in seeing what some of you folks can come up with! Oh, and make sure to list what colors were used on what parts of which armor pieces.

Something that I've found annoying about this thread is that I've seen all of ONE yellow-ish colour.  We have reds/oranges/pinks, but only one thing that could remotely be considered yellow.  The starter colours have RGB, but again it has no yellow.

Does Anet hate yellow or something?

thanks for this topic.  Interesting to see the different ways that different materials dye!  Like the stary night dye that turned some bits blue and others almost black.

I agree with this statement! lol you should be able to dye hair, it would make sense really. I can't wait to get some dyes in the next BWE. I didnt even think to buy them with my gems last time for some reason >:(
