Wow, a video of mesmer not using a greatsword in PvP!

I ended up using a staff most of the time in PvP, and using sword/torch as my second set. I essentially used a "festering" condition build, with the sword functioning as situational melee dps and the torch as a as a get out of jail free card. That worked very well me.
I'll have to try your build the next BWE.

I'm sad i haven't tried scepter/torch myself !
Oh and can you tell me why you aren't using decoy ?
Decoy + "the prestige" (torch spell) would allow you to juke even more your opponent, I feel.
instead of using mantra of distraction you could create another illusion and go invisible. *IMO* tell me why you made these choice of utility!

Many people saw me swinging that big stick around, hurling all that pretty purple confetti, and came charging into range thinking they would put a quick stop all the fabulous hilarity - and just as they got close I dropped chaos storm, popped chaos armor, switched to MH sword and revealed what my real spec was.

Well i choose Mirror Images for obvious reasons;p
About mantra... I liked the idea of being able to stop them from using skills whenever I want (if mantra I ready of couse), plus with traits (+1 sec daze duration, using mantras twice) I get 4 seconds of daze.
Signet of Domination was useful when my pistol stun wasn't ready and i wanted to use Blurred Frenzy.
So, with Pistol in my OffHand, Mantra of Distraction and Signet of Domination i was able to cause 4 seconds stun + 4 seconds daze, and that seemed pretty decent for me

I was one of those people (though I played a necro in PVP). I've looked everywhere to find a way and change the weapons but couldn't find anything. Still had a blast with the skills provided :B

I know there are people out there who didn't know you could change weapons...but what if people just like that style of play?

I really liked gs/staff. I did a 1v3 and faired quite well. I'd like to try sword/pistol | staff or sword/sword | staff. Next BWE!

this is how in invisioned the Mesmer to be ! more like a ninja magician
i rolled Sword/Torch + Staff and had so much fun. While as someone mentioned it was hard to get a blurred frenzy off - i believe they need to alter the mechanic for this - maybe add a cripple to it? for poor people like me living in NZ .. it was hard enough landing a hit with lag let alone them running away.
