Here is one of my PvP vids. Feel free to post yours here.

In this video I flop big time at the end fight with the engineer, could have killed him but I just didn't use my abilities at the right time and before that I down a Thief 3 times only for him to get back up almost immediately. My guess is someone was using a rez ability in the area or his allies managed to kill someone that he also tagged.

I'll be posting more as I upload them.

More PvP from me;
In this vid I do a lot of killing and ganking surprisingly  enough. This was one of my better performances even though there were a few "I'm targeting the wrong person" moments.

- I beat up a mesmer to the point where he turns me into a Moa. The damage increase from other people when you get turned into a moa is insane.

Well the first video is broken at 480 btw. But passed the quality I like how you showed a series of fight instead of just picking the fights you won like so many people.

Screw Thieves and their teleport/stealth on a very very short cooldown.

And the last fight against the engineer was pretty funny lol its like the 2 professions with the most survivability and lowest damage battleing it forever. To be continued...

Anyway good vids !

Thanks. A similar thing happened with an Elementalist and another Guardian. It seems I really don't do well with circle strafing opponents especially since I use the mouse to turn and that apparently messes up your signet targeting.

Ah yes now that I think of it I often lost my target for no reason and for strafing I was also using mouse which forces to click at least once some where on the screen. I hope they fix that.

A recent quote from Jon Petets said that, releasing the right mouse button when activating abilities will eliminate the fact that you have to be facing them for the abilities to connect. If you hold the RMB, you'll have that problem.

Quick snipit of a 1v1 against a fellow VexX member (not a random crappy scrub).

I have about 94gb of footage I need to organized/commentary/add music to. Should be done by the end of this week. I'll post it here when it is.

For now, this vid, please watch in in HQ.

I'm the exact opposite, I can't stand to watch crappy builds/glass cannon builds, because the little footage they do have to post, 80% of the rest of the time is either them getting blown up or zerging.

Support/D is the most viable specs for Guardians. I rather not give new/current players dreams that a offensive guardian is anything close to viable. Even Bohr who did one of the 2 most viable builds for an Offensive guardian admits, its falls far from viable. I hope they buff it to be a little more viable, but I doubt it cause other professions are much better at it. (ele, war, ran)

But that debate is up for casuals, I rather be viable to my team and do better then simply make pointless video's of catching players or worthless fighting off points. Bohr's video is probably the closest thing you'll see to a good offensive guardian video.

Managed to get another vid up;

- No sound.

I have a good fight with a ranger who was at first using a bow but then switched to a Gsword. This was one of the occassions I actually felt I played smarter than the other person.

There might be a bit of choppiness in the vid. I'm not sure if that's my PC doing too many things at once or if that's the my crappy encoding skills on show. I'm hoping it's the former. Hoping to upload a few more Guardian vids by tommorow.

We will see and keep our fingers crossed, I hope they do something and until I play my guardian I cant give any real opinions. Once released I will indeed try to make a pure offensive guardian with survivability utility skills and elite but its all up in the air atm.

First video of many, its mainly 1v1's from sPvP, its an attack build (traits and runes wise, a slightly more defencive weapon/skill choice to balance it out) im using in this video and footage from the first day of beta, im still not sure how viable it is after the whole weekend trying out a number of guardian attack builds, it does work well for a player to deal with secondary objectives (on the 2 maps we know of), nutralising points, 1v1's, ending 2v1 fights fast and jumping into team fights for ganks but for capping points, holding points and being in the middle of a team fight its painful, video shows this fairly well i think.

Got 220 gig of footage to work through using a few diferent builds so gona get plenty of videos up over the next few weeks to free up space on my HD for the next weekend :)

EDIT: Also if while watching the mesmer fight you start screaming at me to heal dont worry watching it back i am too...

Enjoyed the video, although your guildmate would have won if he worked on his build a bit more and used earth more and air less. :)

Here are some of my videos, got more on my channel. For now there are only full structured pvp videos on there, but will be putting on some montages soon. Builds I used are in the comments. Lots of mistakes here and there.

Please dont add music to the clips, just edit them and leave the gamesound in there. Music just makes me want stop watching.

Nice clip except the music....

Btw may i recommend, 1st binding blade, symbol of wrath, 2nd binding blade follow up with whirling wrath and finish off with leap of faith then switch to 1h sword. I think you get a much better trade off with that or at least i do.

Yea I figured that out on Saturday. This footage was from First day (Friday). Got significantly better throughout the beta.

Sadly after seeing some footage of warrior/ranger from Team Paradigm and others, I feel like playing a very support/defensive build where I focus more on damage reduction/kiting is much better for the team. The burst from a Warrior/Thief/Ranger is just way better then anything a Guardian can put out. (It's faster, and safer)

So far I've decided that I'll run Sc/Fc and Sw/Sh as I can get the most out of blind/Immo combo with that and deal some support damage, but be in a position to better assess when to blow utility/virtues.

Trying to figure out how I can counter

So far I can only think this is the instance where Line of Warding can save me or a teamate.

That clip really shows  what my own experience is, played guard during beta but also dabbled around with a hammer warrior and a rangers i hit for 2-4 k per skill with that those when going dpsspecc.

I think when playing versus competent opponents there is no dps build on guardians thats competitve. Even if we go full out dps (10k health) its still worse then the build in the clip and even more so versus a hammer warrior, with a hammer warrior we wont even be able to move, and will be stunlocked from full hp to dead in about 5 skills.

What guardians need in order to be competitve versus rangers/warriors isnt really more dps, we are a support class first, but we need more hp imo but thats me.

I also decided that scepter/focus and sword/shield is the way to go, fooling around with 2h atm is more of a gimmick then anything else.

Just keep your camera manually targeted on him, I didn't find it difficult.

I did plenty of circle strafing round targets using the Scepter and had no trouble with the orbs hitting.

Just posted a new video:

Music free this time, just a full match, well i put a bit of the GW2 soundtrack in the background to liven it up a little but thats all :)

Structured PvP match on the Forest of Niflhel from the recent beta event.

Match started out as a 4v4 and ended up as a 7v7 by the end.

Guardian build im using here is again a slightly more offence based build than the standard, no where near as much defence as someone who specs into defence but its also not full attack either. Im still not totaly sure an offence guardian will work well in 5v5 with the current balance of the game but things might always change, anyway it was very fun to play and for beta thats all that counts.

More videos will be released in the next few days and all the way up untill the next beta event and beyond.

New vid up, updating op to include it.

You know the worst guardian to combo with? The guardian who has a shield and doesn't know when to use his 5 skill. Just watched your Leeroy video Gustavo, really hilarious but at some point some Guardian knocked a perfectly immobile opponent out of your whirling wrath. That happened to me once and needless to say, I was pissed.

Warrior isnt going to stay op, they nerfed guardians because guardians were op a year ago. Yes people guardians used to be op, they could trait for offense and build for damage but still have like 17k hp and do around 9k with zealots defense. Then it got nerfed by about half so to get that damage you need to go all offensive, when every other classes damage is toned down you will see balance but atm I wouldnt worry to much. Also that warrior is easy to counter, when he starts hundred blades just pop shelter, then use aegis, it will absorb most of the damage or even leap of faith for the blind. Either way its best to theorycraft when game is finished with beta.

Good vid man, good build. Its solid damage and survivability so I think its very viable. Im going to try for the 12k hp style offense just for fast kills but I might add more vit so I can use damage utilitys, I only gain like 1k more damage on crits anyways.

Btw if you wanna see a buffed up version of ur leeroy video look at this, its alot more damage but in structured pvp not the chaotic WvW :(

This is more about your previous comment look at his build and the video again. SoA, Sanc and many other ways to counter his build is not able to be done because of his spec. The only thing that Balanced Stance doesn't protect him from, I believe, is Pulls and obviously regualr Obstructions like line of Warding. Yes, thought I hope it's nerfed a little.
