well i hardly died unless i got 3-4 ganked but i was generally able to kill most with well placed bleeds and good dodges. this build is more about shutting the opponent down. very defensive while you slowly chip away at your opponent's health

Oh well...so now what?! Other games just feel so dull when you play them after GW2 beta =(

I have to say this BWE was a great success with a lot of new features and performance

boosts. As usual I got hooked for sPvP but I also managed to get my gal into 30+ for the Ascalon dungeon. It was surprisingly demanding. I frapsed a sPvP match in early monday morning *zzz* and below is the reslut. Apologize in advanze for my terrible english.

Also the bladestorming guy does crazy dmg, too bad all other spells of the Mesmer do 0 dmg.

Yeah mesmer seems like its in a really bad state right now (thus why I didn't play it this BWE). The damage output of duelist is obviously way too high, but as you said without that the class doesn't really have much going for it. Hopefully they can get things sorted out better before release.

If you watch me play, you can see how i try to avoid auto attacking with the scepter and i don't use all the spells. The problem is that some illusions are really strong while others don't do anything at all.

Popping out new illusions will delete the old ones, wich is a huge loss of dps and utility, they should rework the shatter mechanic and balance the illusions so that everyone of them can have a role in the gameplay.


The mesmer is in a really good shape right now, i love it, i wouldn't mind if they leave it like this. Trying to balance all the illusions would be a nightmare.

The match seemed really good. How did your guardian and ele fair? Mostly I'm just looking at the mesmer (which is still fun to watch).

What you mean when you say '' how did your guardian and ele fair?'' are you talking about the spec?

I was just wanting to know, how they performed? Yes and their builds, you don't have to divulge all the details if u'd rather not, but what were they build for? and how did they perform? I'm asking because those are my 2 favorite classes in the game

Both class are viable. The Guardian builds full tank and healing power, his role is to hold points 1v2 for as long as possible, he can also prevent the enemy team invasion at the bosses.

The Elementalist must be played with either scepter/dagger or dagger/dagger, he's strong because he's fast. He's really good at invading and if you stun an enemy he can spyke it in seconds.

I played scepter/dagger and loved it. Yes, very potent, and hopefully I'll be able to get good at playing the profession. I've wanted to try guardian, but I think they're the "easy to play, difficult to master" profession. Now it could just be me XD

Hey guys, Thadcastle here. I'm sure almost no one knows me on these forums, I don't post a lot.

Anyway, my guild, Matchless Gaming, and I did a TON of structured pvp matches this last weekend. All 5 core players made around rank 15 glory and we played close to 100 tournament matches with a mean of 93% win rate.

Today i have to present you all my 2nd MOVIE of my awesome Elementalist.

I played Dagger/Dagger Full Burst Elementalist and it was a blast. I had extreme fun playing this and blowing up ppl in a matter of seconds.

Still after some trait changes and patch of the game i noticed a nerf of the Damage output in my dag/dag Ele i dont know if im crazy or smth but still i think they decreased some of the numbers on Ele.

I decided to give Scepter/Dag a try. Since i wanted to see how well i can play with this and how much of dps diffrence is between this and Dag/Dag i went full Power + Crit Dmg build.

ALRIGHT SO HERES THE AWESOME NEW MOVIE FROM BW2:


Amulet - Power/Tough/Vit with +125 Power gem
Runes - Power + crit dmg
Sigils - 5% dmg + 30% chance to Lighting struck on enemy target while critical hit.

Also wanted to tell u guys some of my thoughts :

@ Warriors : Way to strong imo ;p The Eviscarate 10sec cooldown is op And the fact that IF U MISS U DONT LOSE ADRENALINE is just funny.  xD
@Mesmers : Illusionary Unload ..... DAFAQ JUST HAPPEND most of my encounters i was melted by clones or illusions dunno ;p
@Thiefs : I dont even bother ganking you anymore. Freakin dissapearing when downed with cooldown like 3 sec its just ridiculous. I was some mad trying to gank your ass its just not funny xD

First things first, don't edit out the audio, its a lot more interesting this way.

Glory here from Matchless Gaming. I created a video show casing the "Smoke Rush" tactic that we discovered during this last Beta weekend.

Basically we ran a 4-1 split and rushed the enemy boss. Once we added an Engineer we started using the Engineer to create a Smoke Combo Field and then followed with a Blast Finisher. The best part is that it stacks.

Here is our video showing the tactic and then a full Tournament Match showing when we truly discovered the technique. I foresee Smoke Rushing becoming a tier 1 strat in the future.

Talents were slightly different in the bwe, this tool is not updated.

I left 1 utility slot empty as you can see, i used the 2 sec stun with 45 sec cd, but you can use whatever suits your team better.

I used the mesmer's set that gives you power and precision + 33% stun duration. It synergize well if you use the double stun build i was running. I would use a different set if i were to play without the second stun from my utilities.

You get lot of vitality from talents, you can use a full dmg gear and run with 21k hp, with the 59% dmg reduction you get from having 3 illusions up and the 1.1k thougness you are pretty much unkillable.

I watched the whole video. Really nice to see how others teams played. You show how important it is to have a good team communication and to steal npcs.  I also like your rush strategy. The only things i dislike is that you simply copied this critwar build and that you never weaponswap.

As mentioned this was the very first night of BWE, and the first night i played warrior, so without much warrior experience I didn't start out swapping as much as I should have. Towards Sunday I was switching constantly for the stun in shield, the block, and some extra damage in axes.

Playing a a ranger with a burst damage build, role i took in this match was harrasing, slowing down and killing enemy players to give my team more freedom to cap points worked pretty well as it was a PuG match. Build info can be found in this post in another thread:
