Lol same. I do not believe in Twitter and Facebook and such.

Though, it's really nice they're offering the community something like this. :)

Or they can make their own Twitter to ask questions. Save the question slot for yourself, Hirgon.

I've asked how detailed would the personal background be, like would we be able to choose our personality, for when we have those cutscenes, provided that they still have them.

do we have to fill in character story/background at character's creation or can that be fill in later, or can that step be skipped, or there's a pre-set background story to aid players who haven't a clue how to write a character background story?

can someone please ask that??

Is it possible to play all options on one character, for instant, after we save the Orphanage, can we also save the Hospital too at a later stage in the game just to know what the story is about without changing the personal story, like the Nightfall scenario, choose to help Koss or Meloni. or Choose Master of Whisper or Margrid, but we still get to do those thing later on?

How elaborate is the biography? What are the types of questions we'll be answering for our characters?

You've got a 140 character limit. :p Trim it down.

I asked to see if we could submit multiple questions. No response from Regina yet. If we can, I'll post yours if you can trim it down.

Edit: I'm just going to link this thread to the twitter acct. Maybe Regina will sift through it.

Can we skipped character story at the beginning and filled it in later on.

Can we play all other option once we make a choice and personal story has been written, eg in nightfall, after we pick Norgu, we still get to play the Goren part.

how is that Marisa?  hehe where is my manners, :) weather you tweet it or not, Thanks a whole bunch.

I think they are pulling the "Audience Question Illusion".

What is that you ask?

That's where a company says they are taking questions from the community and will answer a couple of them in a coming article or preview, but they already have a few pre-determined specifics that they are willing to answer. So they pick the ones that are closest to the questions they want to answer anyway. It gives the community or audience the feeling that they contributed to the content revealed and lets the company get some extra publicity for their announcement.

I don't mind, because I will take any information they are willing to give, but it's funny.

P.S. I hate twitter, as well.

Twitter is actually pretty cool. A nice way to follow a lot of gaming companies and insiders. Some even release news first on twitter.

Facebook = bljak, Twitter = cool.

I don't really think it works by question slots..
They'll just pick a bunch, even if it is from the same guy.

And yes, twitter is cool, but not as a social network.
Twitter really shines in "on the clock" news.
Follow your favorite developers/newspapers/blogs/etc.. and you'll get updates instantly.
That's what I use it for ONLY, I rarely even tweet myself.
So twitter helps me be up to date about everything I give a damn about.
And I'm quite happy with the use I give it.

(And no I don't have facebook because I'm not a social network guy)

Can somebody ask if there is going to be more social-class choices than just gentry and commoner? Afterall it's not the same being a commoner bureaucrat, peasant or a merchant.

Also ask about the other races about that issue. Thanks.

Ok; I have a Twitter account (strictly for recent MMO promotions), but have never actually done anything other than sign up to other accounts - how does one go about actually Twittering to them?

I clicked the reply button next to their post, but am just seeing a blank box with @guildwars2 in it; do I just put a space after it and type away?

For all you Twitter naysayers; Game publishers hand out beta keys and other goodies via Twitter. You'd be a fool not to register an account and "follow" your favorite gaming companies. There's no need to babysit it like facebook or myspace.

Well; I've tried now...

Flamethrowers were tempting, but I went with:
"Q.How blank a slate can you start with? Will some backgrounds have static elements e.g.family members, romantic partners, pets, etc"

It always bugged me in Dragon Age how you just craft your character from a few open, flavorful options, then you click start and WHAM!
"Thank you for choosing City Elf Rogue. Say hello to your cousin and father. Your mother's dead. So sorry. You're a menial laborer who owns no weapons. Btw: you're straight. Here's your fiancee. It's your wedding day. Mozal tov."
I'm really hoping that in GW2 there are plenty of blank slate options that allow you to exercise your imagination, rather than starting with a mundane vocation and a cast of soon-to-be-dead friends & family.

The pet part I just squeezed in because it occurs to me it would be dreadful to start as a pet class with some scripted loyal wolf/whatever you raised from a pup, that all the characters know and features prominantly in the first chapters... then you step out in to the wider world and the first tamer you see offers you 100 coins for it so you can go tame the shiny wonderbeast you just passed. :(

Yeah, just type in the box.  But remember to stick "#guildwars2" into the message as well (like at the end), so it appears in the guildwars2 channel.

My experience with tweeter is lololol, i didn't even get a box with @GuildWars2 .... hence blah.

got another question. Are instance play/dungeons a part of character building?? If so how does that work when different players are involved?

Oops; does 'remembering' after the event count? :(

So having @guildwars2 at the start but no #guildwars2 in it means the question didn't count?
Or will Anet have seen it, just no-one else can?

Note to self: ask Geikamir for the 8th profession & release date... :D

Re: Pumpkin Pie
Sorry I've not got the time to go looking for eveidence to back this up, but I believe they've said that:

* You can take other players along on your personal story quests
* But what happens only affects the player whose story it is (presumably they're the party leader then)
* And consequently only they can make the decisions

That sounds a little oversimplified to me, as I'd imagine there's lots of ways other players could (even accidentally) affect the course of a personal story by failing to win/act - but I'm sure they've thought of that too, and devised something to address this (just like The Old Republic devs are claiming to for the same issue in their game).

I posted the first question. I wasn't sure if you made an acct and attempted to twitter. The second question was covered by someone else on twitter. Posted the third question.

If you setup a twitter acct and need help, just pm me here on the site. I can help you learn to use it.

I got a question, how do you justify my personal story when my character's ancestral weapon, the scythe, doesn't exist in GW2?

Yeah, that means my character's ancestry doesn't exist, nor does my GW2 character.

SabreWolf18: @guildwars2: So by "writing" a bio, does the game look at key words in the bio, or is there a series of drop down windows to choose from?
