*Big congrats to Crystal Desert/Ascension for their great coordination and success this last BWE. We showed everyone just how easy it is to use coordination to overcome twice our number, whether it be at a siege or open field.*



Ascension

Ascension was formed in March 2012 with the understanding that while one guild may be organized, prepared, and ready - - they cannot ensure server victory on their own. It takes the coordination of multiple armies and determination of many guild leaders to ensure WvW success and ultimately, dominance.

With a collaboration of shared information, charts, strategies, and research - we have found out that the free flow of information is key in establishing a unity that quickly overcomes and eliminates opposition from any front. Through coordinated SPvP scrimmages, to WvW tactics and strategy meetings, we make sure to truly define what it means to be organized in MMO combat.

The Alliance is run by a "knights of the roundtable" system that gives each alliance member one vote equal to any other in decisions. Whether it be a new member to the alliance, or issues that may arise. Majority vote completes the decision, and it is considered common respect by all parties to accept the decision once that has been reached. It is through this system, knowing we are all after a common goal, that we strive to further improve our experiences in GW2.

We aim to efficiently cover three time zones with an efficient blend of organization, coordination, and chemistry. These are the guilds that are part of the alliance now.

I would love to have my guild become an equal part of this venture, how do I join?

Joining Ascension requires a majority vote from the members in Ascension - - the process is simple. There are some things you should know.

Alliance Leadership
We do not have a "head" or a "leader" and we do not require anyone to be on any given TS or website. We do encourage however, that you have your own TS so that we may use the commander chat functionality to talk between TS servers, even while your leading a raid in your own TS.

Secrecy
We share a lot of information and strategies that are not available to the public yet, you must understand upon joining that you are trusted with keeping that information confidential.

Public Image
Lastly, we do not tolerate any public response to flames, jealously, or similar material. We "walked our talk" in beta, and made it very clear that with proper planning, we can overcome 2-3x our numbers. While this certainly creates some epic scenarios, it also leads to rebuttal from the losing side, who otherwise have been used to zerging everything down successfully. We do not respond to public debate, and instead let our reputation speak for itself. Our performance in BWE and the live game to come says more than enough.

We are glad to announce and welcome the additions of Boon Control and Lords of the Dead to the alliance.

Both guilds share a long history of MMO experience and strong ties with the gaming community. They have so far fit in perfectly with their inspiring stories of previous World PvP ventures, and future plans for their guilds -- both to evolve themselves, and improve the alliance further.

Whether we continue on Crystal Desert, or move abroad - - there is no doubt that with both their discipline and witty sense of humor, they will find themselves perfectly at home with Ascension.

They were tearing it up during BWE3 and certainly set the bar for other oceanic guilds to compete with. Their dedication and organization was amazing, and we can't wait to continue playing with them.

EU guilds announce open recruitment!
We have three very organized EU guilds that are establishing one heck of a community for themselves, and now they are opening the doors for a bit more to EU players interested in rolling with them on a US server. If you are in EU and considered wanting to be a part of that "special" task group instead of being surrounded by millions of other EU players, this just might be your ticket.

FOO joins Ascension
If you don't know who these guys are, then you're going to learn fast. FOO resides in Asia and represents some of the fiercest players you will ever encounter. With ArenaNet forcing their hand to roll on a US server, they decided to roll with the best, and came straight to joining Ascension.
