How do you think Wintersday will be affected in GW2? Apparently the number of followers for the six gods are diminishing and as a result the presence of the gods are lessened. Do you still think there will be a instanced, set-up Dwayna Vs. Grenth Snowball fight?

Also, do you think different races will celebrate Wintersday differently? I am interested in the lore on each race's perspective of wintersday, and if some races simply do not celebrate it at all. Or, how each race decorates for wintersday differently.

I also hope that Anet introduces a snowball fight system similiar to the Mists. 50 V 50 massive Snowball fights where there are battles to capture snowball catapults, and take over large snowforts and such. I think they could make something like that.

The number of followers will RISE when it is the season to be jolly! (plus we all want our pressies) :)

Maybe Sir Nick Jr (the 3rd) will come to (insert main town here) and do similar stuff in remeberance of the old gods.

i think there will be the same festivities held in each of the race capitals on the same day each year.

wintersday, the halloween one, and some sort of new years thing I'm sure will all be there.

Doubt we'll see the canthan celebrations again.

So probably they won't join the celebration. The Sylvari will definitely be there, because they are curious about such activities. The Norn will hunt instead of going to such foolishness, and the Asura will remain in their floating cities to experiment.

Yeah, events like this will be a bit different, now that they have to throw 4 other races into the mix.  

But they might have an event, for each race, depending on their preferences, for such things as Halloween and Wintersday, and others that we take part in.

And maybe they can even throw in holidays made up through lore, for some of the races that fit in with their lifestyle/beliefs/etc.   Stuff that's not real, in the real world, but fits into the game.

As annual festivities are a big draw in any on-line game, I'm sure there will be the usual number.  Instead of Canthan-specific ones, we will probably get race-specific ones.  And don't count out the Norn.  I"m sure that if it involves drinking (which most festivities seem to) they will show up in droves.

Humans will celebrate it as always.
Last year the Norn got caught in the Wintersday tradition by the Ebon Vanguard, so they might join in for the ale.
Sylvari will join in for the curiosity.
Asura.. Not sure. Maybe they'll make a magically enhanced tree or something? Pulling Grenth pranks on their booka's, too.
The Charr will just try to kill us all.
Unless their hate is only on the Ascalon humans remaining at Ebonhawke, and not the Neo Krytans from Divinity's Reach.

The think the people participating in the event will be as many as ever, just like people aren't really christian celebrate Christmas its evolved into ore then a religious holiday. Even if you're not a follower of the gods you still like presents and candy amirite?

We will have some new festivals for sure, but wintersday is not going anywhere.

World vs. World Snowall fights. This time the snowball fights are large enough to make snowball fights in real life look small.

To be honest i hope that they come up with a lot of new things for us to do during festivals ,not just copy what we already have in GW1 and put it into GW2, i really hope that each year has different quests/missions/activities,don't get me wrong , i love the major events as they are now but when they are the same year after year it gets quite predictable and samey.

I don't think the Gods will make much of an appearance in GW2.  No doubt that the holidays will exist and Anet might have a ring leader for each event, but probably not the Gods.

It would probably be set out as the humans in Divinity Reach celebrating Wintersday to give some hope in the face of the dragons presence. The other races would just come along to see whats going down. I'm more interested in Halloween. Obviously Mad King Thorn is immortal so he would still make an appearence...though i would like to know what he would say about the current predicament of Tyria.

I can't imagine them using anyone other than Dwayna and Grenth for Wintersday. This leads me to believe that Wintersday will mostly be celebrated in Ebonhawke, since they are for the most part human gods.

If there is a different representation for the two sides, which I highly doubt, we do not know what they will be yet.

The Mad King will stay, but I have a feeling he will not be as jovial, and probably more angry and sinister since the undead dragon may have claimed alot of his potential power :P
