Personally, I'm not too worried about it. And I'm a 3D Animator myself
Though, that could explain why I give them slack.

That did not amuse me. Why even pick a hair then when they ultimately pick your hair for you? Lazy "fix" that invalidates the option in the first place.

What? And lose the chance to sell you a haircut in the cash shop?

I can understand that it might be hard to fix this problem as I often find it suprising how complex the most simple things are in the computer world. What they could do to make this less annoying? Allow hair makeovers so that people can change to a shorter hairstyle when their armour causes these problems. It is rather obvious that they'd have this option in the gem shop for some kind of fee, but I'd much rather have it as a barber shop in game. Changing the hairstyle shouldn't cost all that much. They could put a more advanced options like changing the haircolour or facial features to the gem shop.

Hell some of the old guild wars armors have had bugs for years, that have been reported and ignored, like the 1k luxon armor top for female warriors. The polygons in the abdomen don't look like they've been properly connected to each other and it causes the torso to glow in dim areas of the game and breaks the shadow up into an ugly blob. That was reported numerous times over the years and totally ignored by Anet.
Don't expect any armor/hair clipping issues to be resolved in gw2 at all.

It was either them or the Charr males that I saw it on frequently, hands constantly going into their hips/thighs in the cut scenes or when just standing around in game and they start doing the idle animation swaying

Yeah wasn't pink on my machine but you can obviously see the problem instantly and it would have taken all of 10 min or so to fix if its just unlinked points on the mesh. Same with an outstanding graphics bug in Kodesh Bazaar. There is a blantantly misplaced polygon, visible from one side on the back staircase by the skill trainer, that you can't miss, just cutting diagonally through like 3 or 4 steps that isn't supposed to be there. It's been reported multiple times and would again take a few minutes for any 3d artist to fix yet has been ignored since Nightfall was released.

Don't expect any fixes at all. Quick would be better then none IMO. At least that would show they did care, compared to these outstanding year old problems that have never been fixed at all.

This kind of thing makes sense as you'd be tucking your hair into your helm anyway.

and yea, the gods of MMO-land hath decreed that this shall be the fruit of all concept artists: THY CHILDREN'S HAIR SHALL NOT LOOK GOOD.
and verily this shall also be the case with tails.
and with that the gods retreated and were not heard from again.

It was pretty noticeable with my Charr character. The tail would just go through the characters jacket. Pretty immersion breaking, but a minor complaint in my opinion.

I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the Charr models. Although I suppose that's one of the things that'll come with the territory of making a beast-like model for people to play.
To me, that's rather small. Hair clipping through helmets? Not so cool.

I agree. I purchased the http://wiki.guildwar...ingmaster's_Hat with my gems during the beta and found my norn's long hair replaced by an odd wig, which I didn't care for. I get that clipping can't be avoided 100% but the hair/armor thing is probably what bothers me the most. I have no actual suggestion or remedy for this situation (because I'm not an artist), but that's how I feel about it nevertheless.

I do.
Create a separate hairstyle for those hairs that need it with a domed shape where the hat sits so there is no hair clipping through the hat/helmet. That won't be done though because, you know, it's work and not quick work.
