Hopefully it isnt able to do a full buyout, Nexon is one of those companies that yes makes a ton of money, but usually trashes its games in the long run. But theres lots of rumours floating around Nexon right now, 2 weeks ago it was they were going to buy out EA. until they get closer to 50% I say dont worry too much.

is only 15%
Atlantica Online, one of best F2P MMORPG isnt from Nexon? Vindictus isnt from Nexon too? the only problem with Nexon is cash shop but in GW2 with arenanet i will not worrie to much with that.
15% is only 15%

Hell I'd throw a few thousand in but it wouldn't get us anywhere... They bought over 3 million shares...

MINORITY share of NCSoft
14.7% not 15%
Plus I'm pretty sure ArenaNet could just leave NCSoft if they saw things were going badly.
Plus I think Nexon is aimming for the other games such as Lineage 3, stop worrying kids.
Everyone is worried about Nexon, too many rumors, next thing I will hear about them probably will be the same thing happened to 38 studios, I would seriously just laugh.
I'm not worried at all.

According to the article they are. Last sentence of the first paragraph.
But I agree, I don't think this warrants any doom and gloom at the moment. Their impact will be felt but they hardly have control.

NCSoft is funding ArenaNet, without that money GW2 cannot be made. Whoever controls NCSoft controls ArenaNets, it's not uncommon for the people in control of the money to force a developer to make changes, happens all the time. Up until now NCSoft has been pretty hands off and let ANet do its thing. People are worried this could change if Nexon decides they want in on the action.

This far along, probably nothing and even if they could why would they? It's clear GW2 is going to be a smash hit and has got rave reviews right across the board. It'd be silly to change anything.
Ofc post release it's possible they would want to expand the microtransaction model, but then so would NCSoft. It's all way too early to start the Oh noes.

Whether or not they have control depends on the breakdown of shares held by whom. If NCsoft themselves own 51%, then yes, Nexon won't have control, but if the shares are diluted among several several shareholders, then Nexon's 15% can have significant influence on the operations.

Right.....NCsoft are telling arenanet what to do, they are the ones behind the cash shop if you didn't realise and are responsible for the things anet are doing to the game to get you to want to use the shop, which is starting to border on you have to use it, its not there yet, but in the future god knows...
This news is just...wow, I can only imagin what the game would be like 1 year down the line with NCsoft leading it, but with bloody nexon? NEXON??

I don't think that they'll be able to pull anything dirty on ANet for GW2. ANet won't put Pay2Win items in their cash shop.
Further, it is not because of NCSoft that ANet put the cash shop in. That was an intended source of continuing revenue by ANet.

If they are smart investors, they would leave GW2 untouched as it is, so it would continue it's huge profit and success unscathed
But every time I assume someone is smart, I often am proved wrong.

this. as i say before, Nexon even do great MMORPG like Vindictus and Atlantica online, the only problem are the P2W shops they make, but i dont see that became a problem on GW2.
to all think game is doomed just dont buy or sell the account...
i bet if this buy was before arenanet add tier trait system people will say that Nexon was already have a impact on game, making the game more like WoW (easy money).
