A first primary change that I'd like to see is a voice slider in character creation. It's a bit odd that we can create bulky, aged, or rugged characters that all sound like average men in their 20's. I suggest maybe a slider that changes pitch or have the voice change based on the Ferocity, Dignity, or Charisma choice that we make at the beginning.

Now for color... Does anyone else feel the need for more individuality among your own class? I feel as though the "themes" of each class are a bit too specific.

In the case of Necromancers, I can understand where the green and black color scheme comes from. Green is supposed to be putrid and ghastly, but why not red? Blood makes sense for a death-magic class. There should be some option for skill-color changes, similar to games like Champions Online or City of Heroes.

Male Mesmers who would prefer a color scheme other than pink/purple butterflies could have an alternative option. What about green or blue dragonflies?
Elementalists could have white and blue lightning options, and slight variants in flame or earth color. Guardians could have different colors for their flames or spirit weapons as well. The list could go on...

I would LOVE to see voice options available in future. We might see this in the future (after release).

I don't like this feature, because I feel it should be specific. It's cool in Champions Online, CoH, but that's because you're creating your "profession," your character's personality. In GW2, you pick a specific, permanent profession with a certain pool of skills and I think everyone's should look the same. You can change you character aesthetically and (as mentioned above) in other ways such as voice, but there shouldn't be IMO skill themes.

I still don't understand why people think all males despise the butterflies and the colors associated with the mesmer. I think it's charming.

I also think the colors are too iconic to change them.

Well, obviously not every male does. I don't really care about it, personally, but that doesn't mean we can't have preferences... It's only a slight turn-off that could easily be rectified.

I don't mind the butterflies themselves; I get it as a theme. Butterfly wings are often illusionary in order to ward off predators. I'm just sure that a select amount of people (probably a very small minority at this point) would prefer to have their own color choice when it comes to the class that they play. The mesmer class is certainly attractive and is worth playing in every respect, I'd just prefer if I didn't have to launch pink clones and shatter them into a swarm of pink butterflies...

not every girl likes butterflies either.  not that I am a girl.  I'm not.  I know a few tho...

+1 for voice sliders.  I'd also really love a feature to turn off my character's grunts / shouts, etc without losing all the dialogue in the game. Toggle or separate audio slider for character noises different from character dialogue please!

Color's won't change.  You never got skill color option effects in GW1 either.  I could be wrong, with the AAA MMO goal of GW2, we may get at least shader options in the future.  Black butterflies would be cool.  (I am not a girl.)

I would like a voice changer... one that is semi-limited. I would expect lots of Helium Characters otherwise.

Colors, I am against. Guardians alone would wind up Regular Pyromancers and Green Lanterns... not a pleasant thought for me and I'm a fan of Green Lantern.
