Does anyone know the level you can wear the t1 city armor and how much it costs? I love that norn ranger armor someone posted and that will be my first class/race at launch most likely, I can't wait to get it!
Level 35 is the level for the first city sets I believe. And IIRC it was either 10gold per piece or it had a Karma cost. I can't say for certain.

The city armor cost 1 gold. Here's a vid showing the charr city armor. The shoulderplate is ugly.

Sure, some skins look really great. But as has been said earlier, there seems to be a bit too few different skins..? I'd rather have more different skins than few but very detailed ones. Of course details are nice, and when ANet announced how detailed they would be, I was very excited. But perhaps I assumed the details were planned after they had planned a lot of different armor. Could be I am wrong here, and there actually are a lot more different armor than I think. I hope I'm wrong?

Well you also got to take into account that the zones were only up to level 35. So the gear we see, is for 1-35. There was a couple vendors for higher level gear, but that's about it. Then of course, there is the random 80 gear in PvP that we see as well.

There is still 36-80 that we haven't even had a taste of yet. All those other zones that have Karma vendors with unique gear to that zone, and as well there is a bunch of karma vendors in several areas that aren't even finished yet (the ones that just sell bread for a few copper) that could also have gear in them.

So, we are just getting a small taste of what they offer. When they open up more, or come launch, hopefully there will be a lot wider variety of armors. :)

Know something about other sets? They are named as

"Black Citadel 1 Heavy Item"

Are there other tiers? Maybe the rytlock armor worn by the warrior in the character creation?

Fantasy games don't all have to look like your cookie-cutter Final Fantasy affair. Your expectations are scewed by anime aesthetics, my friend. Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones are Fantasy. There luckily is more realism in this genre than asian games and films want to make you believe.
Don't assume you know what is driving my dislike of the GW2 armors.  It most certainly is not anything related to "anime aesthetics", or some kind of eastern-MMO art style.  Nor is it based on LotR (although I do think it is a far better inspiration) or Game of Thrones (which I have never yet seen).

I've been playing fantasy games in one form or another since the 1970s, and I've been reading fantasy books for even longer.  Those same books and games inspired several master fantasy artists who's art later graced the covers, pages and screens of those books and games.  To many players I know, those artists set the standards for what defines what fantasy armor should look like.  Sadly, the armor styles shown thus far in GW2 are a far cry from those.

On the other hand you obviously didn't see the over-the-top armor designs in GW2 yet, there are lots that would make your 14-yo-girl's heart jump for joy!
By all means, please show us these over-the-top armor designs.  Thus far, very few in GW2 seem to qualify.  I have no idea what the 14-yo-girl's heart comment is supposed to imply.  I'm looking for armors that this 40+ yo fantasy-lover's heart finds interesting and appealing.

I still love the more realistic looking armor.
Ascalon armor might change my mind on making a Human warrior instead of a Charr.
I've seen the helmet on a Charr, and it just doesn't look as good.

A couple of the armors i was running around in over the beta.

Spoiler

Ignore my ele at the front of the pic, I was just being silly with screenshots in the middle of a fight in WvW.  that I believe is the lvl 35? armor for the guardian charr that's bought somewhere in the black citadel, from what I remember him telling me - we were in the middle of a rather big skirmish so it wasn't a main focus of the current conversation
Spoiler

And just for some fun, this is the branded armor I got forced upon me at the end of the beta :P

Omg best looking armor in game so far in the plate category. I wonder if the same will be available for norns, that shit will look epic on them.

Finally plate a armor where it actually look like it's made of steel.

Not to mention it looks like you can actually move in it as a true warrior without gutting yourself while trying to do a simple move.

Exactly! The people who prefer WoW armor over GW2 armor are strange...especially when WoW plate armor doesn't look like plate but like cloth with lots of engravings on it....even at maxed out settings. GW2 armor sets actually look like the armor type it is....YESSS

There was nothing of this sort in the BWE. Only the closed doors that I believe you can only go through if your character joins the Vigil further in the storyline ^_^

Yes, there are three cultural armor sets in each of the capital cities at levels 35, 60 and 80. I think there were also three NPCs selling unique, rare-quality weapons at those same levels as well.

Presumably, the only race restriction on armor is the three unique cultural armor sets each race gets, and that isn't one of the human sets. That comes from Caudecus' Manor, a dungeon, so it should be available to Soldier classes of every race. Source

Here's an old render from the GW2 wiki showing the same set dyed differently, and what I assume must be the male version:
