Hey guys, here's a tournament game against Nihilum from the PoV of a ranger. Hope you enjoy.

Nice videos, but yeah you might want to think of switching up your build a bit.
Your shortbow does atrocious dmg (no offense) its hitting for like 100-200s.
Thats not good.
Like at all.
Regen ticks for 100-200s.

If not, go with more power.
;D
Like carrion amulet or something of those likes, it'll make your dmg noteworthy (unless you have a soft spot for your quarky spec).
If you just want to keep the shaman amulet thing going, yet do much better condition dmg (not be a pure tank) sword/torch, axe/dagger or warhorn tends to work really well.  Once you get coordinating with your pet (or getting the trait for ground targeted spike traps so they imob) to land splitaxes down (AT CLOSE RANGE!!), you could be doing wonderful.
lol.

Hello again, I've made another sPvP montage!

Unfortunately with the latest SB nerf my previous build was incredibly lack luster and i felt forced to turn to traps and base defense like a mother*er. Because of the entirely boring gameplay I through in some elementalist clips in to make it more entertaining. But ranger is still my main so i figured i'd just post it here instead of bothering other forums with my complaining :)

Absolutely love your playstyle.  What are the sigils you're using on weapon swap (or whatever it is that causes the spikes to come out of the ground)?

WTB race respec.  Stupid Human choice.

I love the video too but I have a question, you're showing many encounters but how many people refuse to fight or manage to run away?

It's a nice example of a non-flashy setup (low crit) but played really well... I wouldn't hang around with you going banzai all over me either to be honest... I like folks who arrive at me after eating a lot of arrows so when it gets to fisticuffs I don't have to out-twitch them :) Then I light up my pipe and put my slippers on !

I find that I can push people into panic mode real quick which makes them mess up. More importantly while they're dealing with me in their face they tend to not notice the birds hitting them.

I don't doubt it - I got the jibbers just watching the damn vid. :)

Also ran out with an approximation in PvP based on it and got by OK... not keybound correctly at the moment to get the best out of it. Will work on it a bit.

lol, i have 400 Cooking, but i'm not switched over to it right now, To be honest, the only food i have on me right now is 80 vit, 80 healing power or something...I forget to use it sometimes, and I honestly have no idea what crystal buffs are.

I'm to lazy to cook myself ... haha.  I just buy them all from TP.  Here's the info on Master Tuning Crystal:

Double-click to consume.
Nourishment(30 m) Gain Condition damage equal to 6% of your toughness
Gain Condition damage equal to 4% of your vitality
+10 Experience from kills

These stack with food buffs.

May help :)

Exactly, that was the first thing I noticed. In WvW people ignore the pet and focus the ranger, but with 30 points in Beastmastery and all that Thoughness and Healing, they're actually focusing the tank while the squishy DPS kicks their ass.

yeap, that's one of the unique abilities of the Ranger, we actually get really good burst even with full condition damage and no power/precision because our pets have their own independent stats.... I mean my pet will pop people for 2k-3k damage fairly often.

I recorded my first fights as a ranger (I actually fought 3~4 other times with really weird builds just to test greastsword), and I would like to hear some opinions on what I should do to improve my build and gameplay, since I'm very noob.

My build: http://en.gw2skills....TymWRMq4ExWkXEA

(Commentary is in Portuguese, just ignore it :D )

That confusion... my Charr is very jealous. If you had to ditch Pain Inverter for a non-racial skill, what would you pick?

Muddy Terrain/SoR/Sharpening Stones are all candidates

I'm still so jealous of Pain Inverter.  There's a lot that works well in this build, but it seems that it's really Pain Inverter that drops people most of the time.  I mean, for the vast majority of your fights, it's at least 50% of your damage coming from that one skill alone.
