My Norn ranger is so jelly. All we get is bleed/30sec, wurm turret and forms that disable your pet. Then again, Pain Inverter is probably going to be nerfed soon.

I fear that ANet will remove using Guard to make pets go up the keep when attacking.

I do not expect the keep-ninja pet thing to stay unpatched either.

Regardless, I think the skill name and tooltip needs changing.

It is currently being used a variety of ways, none of which involves the pet guarding any location.

Been a while since I have played my ranger but I gave a few different pet specs a try and made one that I liked.


I had previously tried one with ranged pets but the damage was pretty low.  Was much better after switching to melee pets even if they arent on the target 100% of the time.

I had no idea my pet could actually do this! Now i'm always waiting for that lone guy who's just standin there to just pounce on. Their teammates mostly just stand there and act like " it's just a pet damn calm down". Also using this to take out siege on walls, very very good.

lol im soooo glad the ranger community is getting better and actually using the profession mechanic to it fullest. Now if only we can get others to think about some of the other good things we can do as well we would be golden, im still working on bringing out more of my builds to further help other rangers out and grant extra ideas,

To be fair, they use to not be able to do it, Guard was changed in one of the patches, and I saw a post on the main forums about it and thought it was interesting, when they improved Sick Em in the latest patch I started thinking of shenanigans i could do with the setup and came up with this.

I really only do it for the pure hilarity of it, cause it's not super great 1v1 cause of the lack of Lightning Reflex, I mean you'll stomp the crap out of Glass Cannons with it, but against other Bunkers you'll have trouble.

I was harassing a Guardian a day ago with it who was shooting me with the Arrow Cart, I couldn't bring him down with the pet in the keep cause he was a little tankier, but I sure as hell could kill his arrow cart in front of him, Ended up having a thief pop on me when the cart was at 10%, I ran back a bit, switched over to Jaguar (was using the other cat in the keep) popped those two abilities, and despite 2v1 (the guardian came out to fight) I instantly dropped the thief cause he was Glass Cannon and ran the Guardian back inside (where I then killed his arrow cart, the prick).

I know the guardian was raging at that point though hehe

Every once in a while, I get lucky fights while recording.  I got really lucky this time.


Still making other videos when I have decent footage,  I just dont feel the need to spam post every single one.

Might slow down or take a break once I hit rank 40.  Or ragequit after I dont get any good looking gear.

I thought I was being original when I made an asura ranger

Amazing videos though, especially the pet ninjas. That should stay IMO, pets aren't all that great for WvW anyway due to the aoe. It's just fair they can do something amazing.
