So, I noticed something interesting while leveling a guardian around various events and finding large groups to be a part of.
Every time, like every single time I died in a large group and someone else died with me, I was always helped back up first. Doesn't matter if someone was doing more damage, was on their team, was higher level, whatever. Everyone stopped what they were doing and got me back up in a hurry.
While everyone can heal themselves, and everyone can dodge and kite, and everyone can take part in the damage of the fight, no one else can as effortlessly apply boons AND still churn out comparable damage. People got me back up first because they wanted their boon cannon.
I guess my question is, after 2 bwe's and a stress test, do you feel like you are starting to fill in the "monk/healer" archetype role in other player's/classes minds?

IMO, range always gets rez first because it's a lot safer. Melee, you might as well ignore unless combat starts moving away from where they died.

I think guardians get ressed more because they usually save the others first, people generally want to return the favor. And because they have a huge impact in boss fights.

I just rez whoever is closest to me in PvE. I never look at profession.

^ to an extent, I would agree about rezing ranged first since imo they are more valueable against champs and such because they tend to do unrestricted damage. If Im on my ranger tho or warrior and a guardian is my melee dps buddy or even support keeping me alive I will go out of my way to help him up if he gets downed.

Yeah I usually don't know the profession I'm rezzing unless I actually saw them fire off an ability or two before going down. If I see a downed player I always move to revive. If they are defeated I usually wait. My guardian definitely takes on a field medic role sometimes in WvW lol.

I didn't really notice this, though you could say that a class with good survivability would be a good investment, and would be able to serve as a distraction while others get rezzed.

I only get ressed first because the groups I play with know the resolute healer trait is hand down amazing.
I can effortlessly rez anyone else in a bad situation.

Normally I'd agree, but I was using sword/shield ; greatsword. I was almost always in melee or bringing enemy mobs to my position and knocking them back.
